is this game always buggy like...WTF ??
i ran a tier 11 map which had "reflect 18% physical damage" mod, so i used "Soul of Yugul" Pantheon and a Coral ring(Sybil's Lament) to counter that, but then when i attack a spawn of sea witch(red color and has fire shield spinning around it), i suddenly die in 1 hit ?? what happened here ?. It also casted a spell which i died instantly with just 1 hit. Is this game always this damn buggy as hell or am i doing something wrong here ???

More often than not, it's the player lacking game knowledge and not the game.
Go here, uncheck hide characters tab, and update. https://www.pathofexile.com/my-account/privacy Then we can see your characters and try to diagnose more. Could be any number of things. Ring on the wrong side, you had a debuff to increase damage taken and reduced reflected is additive.. meaning you need more reduced reflected than 100%, or map mods had both phys and ele reflect and you are dying to the ele reflect where Sybil's only gives one or the other. |

i put the ring in right slot which gave me more 80% reduced physical damage, and NO the map only had reflect physical damage, i also attacked other type of mobs and i didnt take any reflect damage at all, both physical and elemental. The only mob i died to is the one i mentioned above. I also tested it, i lure 1 of them and then stand in front of it, it casted unknown spell and i instantly drop dead.

You need to unhide your characters.
You very likely have sources of increased physical damage taken via shock, vulnerability or something like abyssus. You could also just be dying to the molten shell explosion. Last edited by gladiatorpie#3317 on Sep 26, 2024, 1:39:55 PM

Mob rarity has nothing to do with this. One of the squid mobs does cast vulnerability so If I were to guess its a combo of that plus shock or just straight up shock since I dont see shock immunity anywhere.

So you are Berserker but without Aspect of Carnage, so that's out.
I'm still leaning towards something with increased damage taken for the reflect, but no way to prove it at this point without video to slow down. Reduced flask charges or repeatedly stepping on shocked ground could cause you to still be shocked if your Topaz flask ran out of charges. Several mobs can cast vulnerability or other debuffs that cause you take increased damage, causing you need more than 100% reduced reflected. As for the death without you attacking, sadly that sounds like a welcome to PoE.. build better defenses. Have multiple pieces of gear with no life, you're already cutting your life in half with Petrified Blood, no Fortification since you're not attacking, only seeing 78 max res without importing, no endurance charges or suppression, etc. There's a large amount of spells, even in T11 maps, that can easily do enough damage to 1-tap you depending on your max life and the other map mods. If you are still sure it's a bug, try to record some video and someone can try to narrow it down. |

There was no shock ground mod in my map so we can leave that out and my Topaz flask was still full atm. But i did have vulnerability debuff mod in my map, but the thing is, i used physical attack again other mobs when i had this debuff, i was still ok, no reflect damage taken. If what you said about that squid casting vulnerability debuff spell on me is true, does that mean its curse spell some how stacked with vulnerability debuff mod i already had in my map so that made it enough for me to die by my own physical damage. It also doesnt make any sense when i lured 1 of the squid out, it casted vulnerability spell on me and i died instantly without any attack from both me and the mob.
