Back from a long break, my hideout is broken

Hi

As title says, I had totally stopped playing for 4 or 5 years. Yesturday I reinstalled the game, on my PC laptop (a new one). It seems to work fine except for one thing : my hideout seems, I don't know, like corrupted. It's not my decorations (from my memories), and there is nobody in it. No master, nobody except a kind of ghost equipped with what seems to be a divin suit (?), standing just in front of my portal. But I can't talk to him and can't interact with him. I also think some items are missing, at least the map device -and probably others I can't remember. Actually the only items I could find is the crafting bench, and the chest.

And it's the same for all my characters.

Apart from that I can play the game. But I can't advance in the campaign since with with some characters the next quest is "talk to Helena in the hideout".

Thanks for your help,

LordAdagio

Last time you play is before or after 3.5?

Haku? He will kill you now

Before or after 3.5? Frankly I have absolutely no idea. I remember that when chapters 6 to 10 were implemented, I played a little bit. I even when to chapter 9 with 1 or 2 characters so I probably entered my hideout at that time. And since then, nothing. Hope that helps.
Ok,I read the change notes for 3.5, and pretty sure I haven't played with this version or later.

So the absence of all the masters, and the fact that there is only one crafting device seems normal. However where is Helena? And how do I use my maps now?

Helena

Like you kill her boyfriend and not invite her get into the hideout and left her in Act 2/7 town?

Several retired NPCs may remain in your hideout but can no longer be interacted with, such as Zana and the other original masters.

If Helena and the map device are not in your hideout, you can add them using the Decorations interface (the 'Chair' button on the edit panel at the bottom middle of the screen in Hideout). Search for 'Helena' or 'Map Device'. You should be able to re-place Helena to reset her position, in case she was present but somehow off-screen.

Note that you will need the appropriate quest state in order to add them to your hideout in the current Settlers league. E.g., you won't be able to place your Map Device until you complete the campaign. Helena should become available once you rescue her in Act 2 (Chamber of Sins 2). Once she has been rescued, you should also be able to talk to her in Act 2 town.

Completing Helena's quest should not hold up your progress in the campaign.

If you were to select an old character in the parent Standard league (or Hardcore etc.), you would normally still see Helena and your map device in your existing hideout assuming the character had completed the related quests. You should also see the map device in your guild hideout, regardless. As there were changes to hideouts since you played in the Masters era, perhaps this isn't the case for you.

You shouldn't need to 'select a hideout' with Helena when you already have one (though it won't hurt to do so, even the same one -- it will retain your current hideout layout for each one you have unlocked). Normally she would just appear where you had last positioned her in the hideout, after she is rescued. If you confirm switching hideouts to one you haven't customized, she will normally appear near the waypoint.

For info:
One significant change to hideouts was the removal of favour. All non-mtx decorations are now available to all players and no longer limited to what you had purchased from the masters. Hideouts may also be exported to a file, imported to the game from file, and shared with other players.

He is talking about standard so that quest state should be fine, just may be need to claim the quest reward or doing new side quest like minor god killing

Well, regarding Helena, I had cleare acts 1-4 with multiples characters so yes, I had certainly made the quest. Besides I juste checked, it's marked as completed. (And yes, it's in standard)

But that doesn't matter much, I have been able to get her back from the decorations stuff. And the map device as well. All the other people apart from Helena are in red, but I guess they come from acts 6-10.

I'm still a bit confused on certain things, e.g. you say above that a can "select an hideout" or "switch my hideout", but I can't see how. But nevermind, I think I'm find now. Thanks for your help!

when 3.0 is released, the game auto-migrated all character to mapping and mark all 5-10 main quest as finished

When you talk to Helena, either in town (Act 2 or Act 7) or in your hideout, she has an option to 'Select Hideout'. If you are the leader of your guild, she will also let you 'Select Guild Hideout.'

A panel will appear showing all of your unlocked hideout locations/tilesets with buttons to "swap" to that hideout. You may have several of the default hideouts unlocked, since you played in the original Masters era. Many hideouts are found within the game as side areas, both throughout the campaign and in maps. Full clearing the monsters within the area will unlock that hideout for use, if you don't already have it.

Each hideout tileset will retain its own layout of decorations and NPCs, stored on your account.

Helena may also be used as a vendor in your hideout.
