Difference between Elder and Elder in Shaper Realm

So i wonder what is the difference.

I killed Elder for the very first time. Opened portal with theese.


But apperantly its not part of the quest line, so i wonder what exackly has to be done for it?

Do i have to use this thing with those above?


Or something else?

You need to open the uber elder with fragments like this.
You get them from killing Shaper & Elder.

elder in shaper realm means you fight both elder and shaper at the same time, with the fragments cake posted

BTW isnt it a little bit far fetched? Just do exarch and eater and the go to ubbers?

It's not an "uber" fight like u know them know.

Uber Elder was the second uber fight ever after Atziri and it was only called so by the community. GGG always officially called it "Elder in Shaper Realm". (Uber Atziri isn't one of the Pinnacle Ubers aswell)

That's why the real Uber fight in that instance is called "Uber Uber Elder".

But it's still a sizeable stepup in difficulty from Quest Eater and Exarch, just like Maven is.

Basically Elder/Shaper are the only bosses currently with this problem because they are so old.

There were even yet other versions of Elder back in the day. I think 3 of them: white map version, yellow map version, red map version. And then finally the t16 version, which I believe is the current "normal" elder fight (or maybe this was the red map version...). Then, if you had elder influence spread on all 4 shaper minion maps...you could spawn the uber elder who "eats" the shaper as a boss, like he does in the maps where you fight his minions.

It's a form of bloat....Elder and Shaper in their original forms are wildly outdated, such that the old "uber" elder (Elder in Shaper's realm) is now sorta "baseline" and the UBER uber elder is the true uber boss. Yet they kept all the forms in the game because why not?

So the names had been used for several years already

I was there when they were intorduced, 3000 years ago.

But seriously IMHo Atziri is great example how it shuold be carried away - You get fragments, go kill Atziri, she drops another fragment that lead to stronger Atziri.

Simple and it works.

Elder/Shaper? Prom my point of view its mess. At least quest line should carry player throught steps, not "jump ito hot oil".

But things are how they are. I will get it eventually.
