Red Beasts bugged with essence scarab

Wasn't sure at first but now that I've done well over 500 maps with the calcification+einhar strat, red beasts do not benefit from the essence scarab of ascent. I wasn't sure whether or not they were suppose to but yellow beasts in the map benefit.
My best guess is that the map generation goes from 1. add rare monsters to the map 2. calcify them 3. pick what essences they have 4. essences become one tier higher 5. turn X number of yellow beasts into red beasts 6. Pick what essences they have.
There is also a weird interaction with einhar in general because sometimes einhar beasts do not turn into essences which may just be from a hard limit on the number of essences monsters set in place with the map generation or certain beasts cannot be calcified which would be more understandable.

Should never see a weeping with this strat and if there is a list of weeping, wailing, screaming, shrieking, and no deafening then the ascent scarab is 100% not working.
