Seeking PoE "Loremaster" - Is Rog a GM? Is all of expedition Tabletop RPGer's?

So after hearing Rog's dialogue while dusting for the 100th time and not playing expedition I am starting to suspect that the whole expedition crew is in fact D&D (or some other tabletop) players brought into this game. What triggered this is Rog speculating that maybe next time he should have them fight "one of those "Gods".....which is exactly the reality of PoE now. Is this known, or is there some underlying joke here?
