Question about affixes and ex/veiled slams

So. Example. I have 2 suffixes,1 open suff,3 open preff. If i slam exalted - what a chance that it will be suffix? 50/50? or 75(3 open pref)/25(1 open suff)?
Or if i lock 2 suff and use veiled orb - what a chance to get suff? Does the slams count a "prefix spot" or not?(like ex slam will be in prefix 1/prefix2/prefix 3/suffix 3 or its count only pref/suf group)

This is a good question. I'll give you my assumption, but I am not certain of it:

The chance is not 50/50, it would take the total number of available mods and randomly (but evenly) choose one to fill. So in your example, with 3 open prefix and 1 open suffix, it would be 25% chance for each possibility with a total of 75% prefix, 25% suffix.

Now.......the question is how does GGG weight the chances of getting a prefix on an item that has no prefixes? We already know that these are somewhat "forced" at various stages of item development. A magic item MUST have a prefix and a suffix, for example: it cannot have 2 suffix. Do rares that have been altered to have an irregular mod structure (less than 3 mods, only suffixes) have their numbers "adjusted" to make prefixes more likely? I doubt this is the case, but it certainly is possible.

The "lock" metacraft counts as a mod. So if you craft "suffixes cannot be changed", that mod is now taking up a prefix slot. The ONLY prefix spot, which presumably means that the veiled orb would be forced to remove THAT mod (since the suffixes can't be removed or changed). The odds of the new mod would then presumably follow the same "rules" as the above situation: three available mod slots, 33% each chance, 2 prefix/1 suffix, 66% and 33% respectively.

Since if firstly remove and then slam it has to be like 3 to 1 ~ 75% pref/25% suff. if its working in this way ofc.

Don't think so....I think they happen "simultaneously". The second you use the orb there are only 3 open mod slots to choose from and so those are the only ones that are counted. If I were a betting man, I would say it is NOT a cascade effect: where the mod gets removed, and THEN a calculation is performed on the new mod.

Could be wrong though, just a gut feeling.
