Implementation of the auction house.
Good morning;
I'm a fan of Path of Exile and I admire what they managed to accomplish year after year. However, I have been asking myself a question for quite a long time now. I was wondering if with the implementation of the currency exchange market in Path of Exile 3.25 league, if the exchange market for items (armor, boots, gloves...) like on console, would see the light of day soon ? or if this was technically impossible to implement for the PC version of Path of Exile? Why they can get it on console and we can't ?? I just want to know why this is still not implemented in the game after all this time and if it should happen soon ? Thank you in advance for the time you will give me to answer my question. Sincerely, Psykend. Last bumped on Sep 5, 2024, 12:33:11 PM

They are testing how things going. I guess they will add more stuff in the future for sure, but how much, no one will tell you for sure.

Why it's been year they added this feature on console and not on pc then ? it doesn't make any sence, when you test it's for few month and, i suppose, on the right support.
It's kinda sad to have no information about this knowing we will not judge they're reasons anyway. GGG is supposed to be one of the rare society that keep paying attention of the community needs but they never answer of one of the most asked question. We deserve atleast reasons and details about that. Like when we will get those or why it still not here ?? is that really too much to ask ??? |

" It doesn't make sense FOR YOU, you forgot to add. " Nope. They don't owe us anything. On Probation Any%

" The console "auction house" isn't really an auction house and it is shit The PC trading is objectively better (outside other user generated trade spam and fake listing) The currency AH IS a test, and to be fair i think they have hit a good balance on their first attempt. But no, you don't need every single game design choice explained to you like you are a toddler, at the end of the day it is fairly self explanatory but it can also be used to create a negative narrative by people that just don't understand and don't want to. If u don't want people to answer, do ur research. They explained it more than enough why it's not in the PC version yet. The reason why the market exists in the console version is probably technical. Last edited by Tai_GGG#0000 on Sep 5, 2024, 12:19:33 PM

I know I'm a nice guy! Thanks, buddy!
But yeah, sadly, instead of discussing my questions and responding politely, they'd rather be toxic, right? It's way more helpful, isn't it? And no, if you open your eyes, you'll see they never respond. Only one person said 'console AH is shit,' that's it. No one is even suggesting that it could be a good addition to the game or w/e interesting. Just a bunch of toxic kids with time to waste, sadly. My questions are legitimate. It doesn’t mean I expect an answer from the devs themselves, but at least if someone has something smart or interesting to say (instead of barking kids for no reason in my thread), I'm open to it! :) |

Okay, the reasons the console AH sucks:
It basically has no in-depth filtering for mods or mod rolls, it also needs the person on the other end to confirm the trade but at that point you are already out the currency. Imagine if every time you whispered someone that didnt respond you would have to put the currency for that trade in escrow. There is an explanation from the devs somewhere that the PC Trade site and the Console Trade-thingie represented two extrems of the spectrum. PC has "Easy search but rocky transactions", Console has "Rocky Search but easy Transactions". I personally quit playing console POE over the lacking functionality of the trade-thingie and vastly,vastly prefer the PC site, with all its issues. Yes, there are probably ways to smooth over the console trade-thingie and make it useable on PC, but the friction in trade is something that is (still) wanted, the currency exchange has gold costs as friction, the trade site has potential non-responders and clunkiness as friction.
