dual wielding, crit chance and perfect agony

Imagine that you have perfect agony, you are dual wielding and you are scaling poison (i.e. with viper strike of the mamba. anyhow the question is not on that in particular). With perfect agony you can apply ailments only with critical strikes. Now in the wiki there is:

"
The final hit is considered a critical strike as long as one of the weapons dealt a critical strike

Does this mean that I need to crit-cap with just one weapon to being able to always apply ailments? I understand that I still need to hit accuracy cap with both weapons since otherwise the damage of the weapon that misses is removed but, AFAIK, it looks the crit cap is necessary only for one of the weapons.

No. Each hit is calculated separately before they are combined, and that includes damaging ailments they would inflict. If the main hand calculates a poison and the off hand does not, you;ll inflict a poison based only on the main hand damage. If both hands calculate a poison, combining the two hits will combine their poison DPS, and the combined hit will inflict a single poison with the total poison DPS of both hits.
wow, thx Mark!
