Losing experience after disconnect Poe 2

Does path of exile 2 also have the system that you lose experience when you disconnect or die?

I just don’t understand why it is necessary? It’s just stupid.
Why not have it in ruthless. Would make a bit sense there, but in normal mode…

Unfortunately I don’t have the connection that stable and I don’t have an option to have better connection.
I understand that it’s a me problem but still I can’t see why it is there. It’s not making players die less or try harder.
The ones who wants a challenge will play ruthless or hardcore. To have this system for casual player just makes no sense at all.

I really hope that it will be removed from Poe 2…

You will lose EXP yes.

Also mobs will respawn if you die

The boss will respawn if you teleport out or die.

If you attempt to logout during you being murdered via alt f4'ing you will spawn directly the very moment hes about to kill you.

No it's not changing.

edit: Portals are actually literally gone in a boss fight you can't cast it.

That is a good change and also for dissconect you actually will not lose the experience on the map after disconnect. At the moment I will just lose exp.

That is also really nice. Ruthless have some % of hp that the boss gets back after you die. Boss respawning with 100% is nice change. If you can't defeat the boss you can't sinish the map.

Also good change. If a mobs on that map also respawn on the map at least I can gain some exp back and finish the map.

Overall I understand that the death and disscopnnect should have consequence. If the changes that you have to start the map from start is the consequence I that that's big enough. That's acctually how the labyrinth works at the moment and I couldn't find all the keys because I had to run through to finish the laburynth and that's fine. At least I had a change to make choice to skip the keys to get it done. With exp at the moment I don't have it.

At the moment there's nothing I can do and also it's pretty much impossible for me to get lvl 100. I'm losing more exp with 1 disconnect than I earn. I need to have approximately 3 maps without disconnect to earn exp.

For minion build there's possibility to use soulbound paua ring to avoid it(Had I known that before...). Maybe there should be similiar option for different build that I can make a choice to give up some of my other specs just to lvl. Atleast I would have a chance to change my gameplay or my approach to achieve the goal.

I changed my passive skill tree so I can use golem as link and So I can use soulbound paua ring to be linked with the golem not to lose exp. It means that I only have to make sure that the link between me and the golem is there otherwise it's pointless and it is not enjoyable gameplay.

After all I'm doing it only to atleast have a chance to reach lvl 100 as well. With this solution I pretty much can forget boss fights and only farm exp, so I will not have any progress in the game.

In my opinion just losing exp does nothing beneficial for the game and should rethought.

For example as the system in heist. If you fail you will get nothing. Why not make it the same in maps. If you fail the map you will lose materials and exp.
If you complete the map then you have gained it. That would make finishing the map beneficial and deaths meaninful. Disconnection of the starlink player can do nothing unfortunately.

Probabaly Having this topic here will lead to nothing anyway, but atleast I had my thoughts somewhere. At the end of the day I have only some hours per day to spend on video games and this game is really good time to put the hours. :)




Poe2 will have exp lose on death at high levels but not at low levels, unless this changed because this info is old.
