CtD in settlers league but not standard

Within the last hour or so, whenever I try to load a character in Settlers league, I get a crash to desktop varying from as soon as I click play to as late when I try to use the waypoint to go to my hideout.

However, I can load standard charactes and map just fine.

Created a fresh settlers character. was able to kill hillock, but CtD as soon I tried to enter lioneye's watch.
