Ransom button doesn't work

I tried to rescue my ship but I died. At that point, if I tried to click on "Ransom", there was a red hover text that I didn't have enough gold.

Now, I have over 50k gold in my inventory, and I don't get the red hover text, but the button still isn't clickable, so I still can't ransom them. My only option is to abandon them, which I really don't want to do.

No response from GGG on this. Is it intended that if you fail the rescue you can't ever ransom? Or is this a bug? It's blocking me from sending out other ships while my one ship is in this state which is really frustrating.

Why does "Contact Support" tell me to post here when there's no answers or even acknowledgement that this is a bug?

Same problem...except for Map device where I have a bunch of T7 mappers that would be hell to get back...

Tried doing the fight on the work PC which was a bad idea...1 FPS = dead.

I REALLY don't want to abandon them...

This entire Commandeer mechanic is the worst possible way to introduce the bosses. Stops the entire map or boat system and it's been buggy since day 1...

Very frustrating...

I was away for the weekend and I was hoping we'd get some clarity on this, but still just silence. :(

You can't ransom them if you failed, left or crashed in the pirate fight.

It's not very clear what the stakes are when you go into the battle. If you're on a janky connection or have a glass cannon build, it's better to pay the ransom.
