Rage Vortex and Vengeful Cry Interaction

Excited to play around with melee this league and ultimately wanted to play something around rage. I am excited for the new Vengeful Cry skill but wanted to know how it interacts with Rage Vortex.

How does Rage Vortex work during the Vengeful Cry buff which prevents rage from being lost? If you meet the 10 rage threshold, Does any rage get sacrificed or does it treat it as if 0 rage was spent on the attack and no Ragestorm is created?

As gem info is out, my question has been answered: Vengeful Cry only prevents inherentt rage loss.

I'm confused by Vengeful Cry's rage generation function. I'm using it between two rares (20 power?) or a unique enemy and no rage is listed in my buff bar.

Have you noticed it generating rage? I am not using auto-exertion, btw.

I do but its very little, and that's with a +35% effect, 6.6 sec duration and the minimum 10 power warcry mastery. I need to pay attention closer to the actual rage regen but it does feel slow considering.

Are you running it with Beserk or RVoB?
