Can't open strongboxes if map contains runes of the Searing Exarch

Completed a t17 Sanctuary map with the map modifier "Area contains runes of the Searing Exarch" while using "Ambush scarab of containment". Was able to click them and kill the mobs, but 40/42 were locked and could not be opened. The 2 I could open didn't spawn any runes. 0 monsters remained in the map.
I also used "Allflame Ember of Manifested Wealth"

Sam i just ran a citadel map with the same searing exarch mod with containment and i cant reopen any of the strongboxes

same happening here none of the boxes are opening help please!

Happened to me right now, too. -4 divines on map+rolls+scarabs+allflames lol. Probably ambush scarab of containment caused this. The traps were packed in strongboxes too or smth idk..

The issue is with the exarch mod. Runes map mod or influences. The strat works fine without either of those. Everyone reporting it so far had Exarch.
