PoE needs testers

Please test these leagues before launch. Its so annoying having the top whales abuse exploit or untested mechanics to ruin the economy every league then have you nerf it a month in. Fix these problems BEFORE the league launches. Also stop adding mechanics that need excel maps to complete. It failed for harvest so why did you do it again?

we are the testers....real testers are not in the budget...small indie company ya know?

People who actually had to work to build up to these strats just got utterly destroyed whilst the people who abused them are rolling 10 mirrors deep.

50k testers working tirelessly atm.

WHy would they pay for testest when players will test stuff for free?

They can't foresee everything, with all the mechanic interactions, but yes this league must be the biggest showcase that or their testing team is too small or they literally don't play their own game. almost 2 weeks in and how many emergency patches did we need to fix exploits and bad league mechanics?
But again, peopel should expect that economy ruin will happen all the time because if it wouldn't, the same peopel would complain how few ways there are to abuse things in the game... can't have it all.

The issue though is that they listen to the 1% to much.

I am a developer. All these issues could be unit/integration tested or checking outcomes in various circumstances by writing a special application. Even you do not need people to play the game. Yeah, writing tests takes some time but honestly, it's all about thinking.
Also, MF and group bonuses make these problems much more serious. They should fckin get rid of them.

They have testers, internally, not sure if they are still using beta testers(players).

The thing this sort of post fails to grasp is that time is the factor that determines the result of testing.

It's a 3/4 month cycle, it's not going to be at the testing stage from the get go, so they'll probably be looking at half of that.
If the league content is complex there are many more areas that need testing.

So lets play a game (assuming you can math)

Game has 2 months of testing.
Game has 1000 testers
testing 24/7
Thats almost 1.5 MILLION hours of testing.
It catches a lot of stuff

Game launches

300k players across all platforms jump online
in a day the have amassed 7.2 MILLION hours of "player testing"
Things that were missed or very rare become regular if not common occurrences.
2 days in even the extremely rare will be occurring enough to be noticed.


And in terms of finding exploits or unintended results, well you just need to suck it up because even with a billion hours of testing people will still find something and you'll still be behind the whales crying your eyes out thinking it could have been you (it wouldn't ever be though)

1000 casuals wont find even fraction amount of bugs that 10 profesionals will. Looking at what happened in Nekropolis several times I can hardly believe they do any tests other than "does it work". WHether something can be abused, is busted etc - WE are testers for that.
