A nice, crunchy build

Okay. I really used to love the tri-Herald autobombers and such. The massive icy explosions have a really nice crunch to them. I'm just coming back after a few years and I'd really just like some suggestions on what I could do to achieve said crunch.
Apparently HOI doesn't scale very well anymore. I was looking at Ice Shot, but I'm not that big into bows. I was looking at Frost Blades but it doesn't seem to shatter (that I saw). I used to enjoy the simple life of flicker strike/double strike... but yanno. I need the shatters. If Ice Shot is what I need to do, I'll do it. if you equip oriath's end flask then you will get shatter explosions sometimes

Oh that's what I'm doing right now. I love the explosion, it's just not QUITE the same, yanno? Good advice though, thank you.
