poe2 beta delayed until end of year

i dont care much about poe2 but i thought all these leagues are 4 month instead of 3 so that poe2 could come faster? if poe2 still moves at a snails pace then can we have 3 month leagues back? at this rate poe2 is still years away, all these extended poe1 leagues are not helping....
