Trading 1c == 1 Chaos Orb or 10 Chaos Orbs

Hi,

I'm new to the game and yesterday I made my first trade.

I listed March of the Legion, Legion Boots for 3c via an premium stash tab. I thought 3c would be a bit less, but thats the price range I saw on the POE website for comparable March of the Legion, Legion Boots. Since I'm new, I have no idea how much a Chaos Orb is really worth.

A few minutes after I listed the item I sold it.
But the person who bought the item gave me 30 Chaos Orbs instead of 3.

On an old reddit post I found this:

"
Duh idiot everyone knows 1c means 10. Kappa123.

Is this true? Do I have to multiply by 10 or was it a mistake?

I didn't say anything yesterday because I'm new and the person could have easily taken advantage of the situation. But I have the name and can make things right, if it was a mistake.

I hope someone can enlighten me.

No, not really.

In this economy, where players drop hundred of chaos and a handful of divines every map, 'most' people don't really respond to low value trades. So if you want to buy an item like that, you usually have to do something to get the sellers attention. The buyer in this case had probably whispered a million non-responders. Maybe he told you in the trade whisper that he was willing to overpay? He's not really paying for the item as much as paying you to leave your map.

Anyhow, the smartes thing a buyer can do to increase his chance of getting a reply from a seller, is to a) not necessarily go for the cheapest item listed, and b) always sort by when the items was listed. A player that just put the item on sale is way more likely to reply, than a players that has had the item rotting in their sale tab for days.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

This league the market is done. People dont want to unstack chaos orbs for a trade.

However i would have expected him to give you 20 instead of 30. Maybe he was nice.

I personally dont trade under 1 div anymore.
Thanks for the clarification and information on how things work.

He whispered with an auto-generated message I think:

"
Hi, I would like to buy your March of the Legion, Legion Boots listed for 3 chaos in Affliction (stash tab "Sell"; position: left 1, top 1)

Also thank you for the information about the currency drops in maps.
Gives me a better understanding of how much a chaos orb is worth.

As a future note, next season a chaos orb is likely to be worth more. This season is just more generous than usual.
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!
It might also be that the spesific roll you had was worth a lot more and the buyer felt they wanted to pay the actual value (or at least a compensation) for the decent roll. But most likely just a person that decided to be lazy :P OR they could have checked if you would be honest and give the difference back. Then again then they def would had let you know after :P

In end of league economy generally 1c is pretty much the same thing as 10c when buying a single item. People are willing to pay 10-20c for 1c items just to get the damn item faster.

Naw man, he was joking. You were underselling it and he was doing you a solid giving you more what it was actualy worth instead of taking advantage.
Now I don't know that for sure, you didn't link the roll it had, but no, 1 chaos is not worth 10x or w/e the heck. 1c is 1c.

I was just checking the Trade Site for mid to high Rolled stats, not even close to perfect rolls and boy are they expensive witha Spellsupression Corrupt.

And if I am searching for uncorrupted ones there are litteraly none available that have acceptable rolls.

So my guess is you had a Pair of really good rolled ones and you totally underpriced it and he is like me and just pays what he thinks it may be a fair price for it. Keep in mind that perfect or near perfect rolls on a Unique can make it woth multiple divines.
