Artificial waste of time
Prove me wrong, but a lot of things are made artificially stupidly wrong aimed to waste your time from nothing or make simple things complex:
1. Every time you die all you auras are switched off, thus making you click, click, click - stupidiest waste of time ever from nothing. Like, ok my character have died, I lost experience - it is bad. Why I need to manually activate all my skills reserving mana/life. Just why? 2. Stupid mouse character controls. Ok, D2 used it, it is our ancestor's ways, we will do it, our children will do it. I got the idea. a) Why I need LMB to construct towers and upgrade towers in blight while using it to move and dodge puddles and stuff? Why in heist I can press V instead of LMB to start interaction with object but not with tower? b) Simple stupid doors on maps. Why I can't press V or anything to interact with door, lever anything. Why I need to stop my character, click LMB on that object, while being projectiled, puddled, beaten etc? I have billion useless hotkeys in options like use 3 kinds of sentinels. But no usefull keybinds? Last edited by BambulaGTS on Jan 8, 2024, 4:03:09 PM Last bumped on Jan 16, 2024, 3:30:04 AM

If you were around when harbinger shards dropped as strictly 1 shard per stack, you should be grateful for what we have now :) Occasionally GGG lets QoL changes slip into release, must have been by mistake. Maybe we'll even get aoe/auto currency pickup in a few years.

" Because they cost mana/life and if you die, those go to 0, thus they are disabled. You dont need 500IQ to understand it. Also how is clicking V, button you normally dont click, better than clicking LMB, button you cliick pretty much all the time? Last edited by Aynix on Jan 8, 2024, 5:43:00 PM

" Lost ark has no place in Poe so you could play that instead. Luckily they will never introduce a feature like this just to feed the lazy and spoiled instant gratification audience. Also a feature like this already sort of exists and is called a decent loot filter. Helps a lot to not cookie cutter click around on single currency drops ;) Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

V is better than LMB because:
A) it is on your other hand, which should be less occupied at the moments you need to open doors B) it doesn't interrupt running like a headless chicken, which is especially important during ravaged blights C) you cannot missclick with it and move where you wouldn't want to move, which also throws away icon you tried to click relative to screen |

" Ages old Titan Quest had it, idk why you keep bringing lost ark. Sacred 2 had it too. And loot filter doesn't reduce amount of clicks, can skip loot fine as it is Edit: also, no game I know has 100+ types of currency/resources, so need for clicks is inflated in the first place Last edited by Echothesis on Jan 8, 2024, 6:57:13 PM

Having to turn your buffs back on is entirely appropriate as part of the penalty for dying.
A general interaction button could be worth trying out though. |

" It does help a lot and reduces the clicks heavily. Unless you use semi strict or strict which is pretty much just a week one league start filter, so that's on you. Lot's of games don't offer a auto loot or click feature these days, those that have one only have it as a cash grab purpose, or solely to target the lazy instant gratification audience with little interest to do anything in a game as everything has to be fully automated in order to be fun. Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun. Last edited by Pashid on Jan 8, 2024, 10:14:02 PM

" You can't compare the simplicity of heist (opening a door) with blight. By design, it's not like you can do much, unless every time you have enough upgrade material, the game freezes (Ultimatum alike) to give you time to choose what you'll do. Also, if that exact "V" example is used in blight, what do you think it would be like? You press V and the game selects the turret you wanted? How can you select one of the 2 upgrades, using "V" and "B"? new shortcuts for each turret, as V+1 V+2 V+3 ... V+5? Will a context menu open to select a turret in a random area? You solve all of this literally with 2 clicks... literally 2... and improve turret with 1... " I understand the approach you take on the subject, and I understand what you are trying to say, however, I remind you that there are already penalties for dying that actually count as penalties, for example, losing 1 portal, losing a % of your experience, losing the ability to continue taking advantage of the greater potential of the league mechanic, the Ultimatum encounter, etc, etc. Re-activate all auras does not make you lose anything more than time. At least in Path of exile 2 auras will not deactivate upon death Venezuela es mi barrio, y odio mi barrio.

"Indeed there are. That’s something I tend to bring up when people argue against removing the experience penalty, which is the part of that penalty set I would remove before this, if I had the choice. But it’s not like I’d be horrified if auras didn’t turn off, of course. "Well sure, but that’s always true. It’s a videogame. None of its penalties make you lose anything more than time. |
