EA Elementalist still dying - squishy by default or my fault?

Hi guys,

I'm new to the forums, but I would like to ask if someone can give me some tips where I have to change what, so that I won't die in T16 maps.
I already have 75 all res (chaos included), 90% physical damage reduce (while the flasks are active, and they are almost all the time), 100% suppression and immune to shock, freeze, reflect etc.

What I'm doing wrong :( or it's just the build and the Elementalist class squishy :(

Thank you in advance.

Your build is about as tanky as any build would be that has 3.7k life and not much else to show for it.

If you wanna get the build a little tankier I suggest the following:

- 2 points for Ironwood (also has the upside of making ballistas more durable)
- you would be suppression capped without Magebane if you put the passive into another small node for Eva/Suppression
- remove Iron Reflexes (the amount of armour you get from this is not good enough and evasion would make you take less hits during maps)
- craft a new large cluster with 8 passives instead of 12, you are wasting a ton of points there. Make sure it has Disorienting Display on it because this is where you'll get chance to blind nearby enemies, which, together with having evasion rating, will make you take a lot less hits
- fire mastery for 1 life regen per uncapped 1% fire resistance helps against Dots

And then a bunch of gear stuff. No life on boots, no life on amulet. Boots should be highest priority and need replacing quickly

You can also look into upgrading your charms. There will be far better options for you.

Thanks a lot ArtCrusade!

I did the changes and also the boots are upgraded now. The next is the Amu. About the large jewel, you're correct, this I overlooked.
About the Iron Reflexes, I removed it for now and because I have more suppress on my new boots, I also removed the one small point from "Evasion and Spell Suppression" small node you have placed there. The 2 free points I used for some dmg increase:
Savagery - +1 frenzy charge
Aura Effect small node - 6% increased effect of non-curse auras

I played a bit now and it's way more tanky! I even didn't expected that the life regen you recommend is doing his job so great!

Do you have any recommendations about the charms?

Thanks once again. Let's see how it will perform on high juicy maps.

In general you'd be looking for Lupine Charms. I recommend combos of Spell Suppression (T1 is up to 15% each), Onslaught Effect and Chance to Blind (only need this one once)

You can also look into a That Which Was Taken jewels as they can also roll high Onslaught Effect, Suppression and even Chance to Cover in Ash (which would let you change Polaric Devastation for e.g. The Taming if you want more damage or you could slot another rare ring to help capping resistances/attributes and provide more life (Amethyst or Vermillion base)

Glad to hear you are already doing much better. :)

Thanks again! :)

I already changed one of the charms, but will look for some others to exchange the rest.

Regarding your recommendation of the Onslaught on the charm, I think I don't need it, because on my medium cluster I have "Sleepless Sentries", which provides me Onslaught all the time. Is that correct or I need another Onslaught? If I don't need another one, then is it good to put "Blind" on the charms or Onslaught + Blind is not working in combination correctly?

About the "That Which Was Taken", maybe you're right to search for a "Cover in Ash" on the jewel, so I can replace my Polaric Devastation for something else (as you said). I even don't need Onslaught on the jewel, but Suppression will be nice + Ash + something else.

Great, great. I'm playing in the last few hours without a stop and I'm loving it now so much :) I was just about to give up on that build before all these changes, but now I feels like the EA Elementalist can be an end-game build for sure :)

Thanks!

(just mentioning it in case you didn't know, but charms have "onslaught effect" so 40% onslaught effect would translate to 8% move- and attack speed for you. it's good because sleepless sentries guarantee uptime on onslaught)

Now I got it.

My selection to search for on the Charms and the Jewel are:

Banner Skills have no Reservation

#% chance to Cover Rare or Unique Enemies in Ash for 10 Seconds on Hit

Enemies you or your Totems Kill have #% chance to Explode, dealing 500% of their maximum Life as Fire Damage

Attack Hits against Bleeding Enemies have #% chance to Blind

Nearby Enemies cannot gain Power, Frenzy or Endurance Charges

Grants Armour equal to #% of your Reserved Mana to you and nearby Allies

#% increased Mana Reservation Efficiency of Skills

#% of Damage from Hits is taken from your nearest Totem's Life before you

+#% chance to Suppress Spell Damage

#% increased Effect of Onslaught on you

Let's see how to get there and take as many as I can :)
