Malovelance with Life Tap support?

How can I use those 2 gems linked together? Life Tap Support gem says it can apply to Malovelance but when I link them Malovelance is 'greyed' out for me so can't be used. Am I missing something?

Lifetap has 300%multiplier to reservation cost and also makes it cost life instead of mana.
Quite sure you can't afford that cost |

Also, Lifetap cannot change the reservation from mana to life. To do this you need Arrogance Support.

So I need both Arrogance and life tap linked to Malovelance to make it work?
