Standalone Client Steam Controller

Hello, just wondering if this is supported? I have a steam controller and using the standalone client, the game doesn't detect it. Is there a way to make it work or will I have to install PoE via Steam? I tried adding it to Steam as a non-Steam game but that didn't work either.

you are using Steam Controller. Then ask Steam can it work outside Steam

" [Removed by Support] The standalone supports xbox and ps controllers, I didn't think it unreasonable to ask if the steam controller would work too.
