Gear and Sockets (old):

Jewels:
Spoiler

Unique Jewels:
Spoiler

Watcher's Eye - Best ones would be Faster damage with ailments, Damage over time, additional Evade, etc..

Forbidden pair - Noxious Strike. The poison duration stacks perfectly with faster damaging ailments.

Brutal Restraint - 4858 of any conqueror is the best choice.

Cluster Jewels:
Spoiler

No cluster jewels required.

Other Jewels:
Spoiler

No rare jewels.

Flasks (old):
Spoiler

Note that the skill will drain your Life flask charges. Getting flasks with more charges is your best bet. Take one with 50% instant heal and anti-bleed.

Detailed build description:

Spoiler

We scale up poison damage and a variety of defenses to build up a pleasant playstyle.

Damage scaling:
Spoiler

The damage is mostly built up by Frenzy and Affliction charges, efficient poison stacking and number of masteries.

Defenses:
Spoiler

There are numerous defense layers that will ensure a chill gameplay:

75%+ chance to block attacks;
15%+ chance to block spells;
100% chance to suppress spell damage;
90% chance to evade;
The Heartstopper ascendancy
Temporal Chains curse aura
Immune to Criticals
Immune to Freeze
Immune to Chill
Immune to Curses
Immune to Stuns
Immune to complete slows
Capped resistances
More than 15% Life on kill
10% instant leech

Uniques:
Spoiler

We're using 6 unique gear pieces:

-Atziri's Reflection: Provides various bonuses which greatly add up to the total performance of the build;
-Snakebite: A key item that provides additional accuracy, DoT multiplier, Chance to poison and attack speed. All this at the cost of -10 seconds to the duration of the Frenzy charges. Fortunately, we are Swift Killers and our Frenzy charges have +20 seconds duration so the downside of the gloves is negated;
-Stranglegasp: In my own experience, this amulet is the best for any poison build because a lot of precious poison notables are scattered across the passive tree;
-Profane Proxy: The automatic temporal chains curse aura is another layer of laziness...;
-Olesya's Delight and Ralakesh's Impatience: The belt and the boots are an awesome combination that would allow you to benefit from both types of charges. While being always at maximum Frenzy charges, the frenzy charge generation will stack up Affliction charges and you will have them active all at once. All bonuses from both will apply.

Rares:
Spoiler

As usual, rare pieces are only to add up generic mods. With the exclusion of the armour piece this time, which should be our Frenzy Charge generator but it will instead generate Affliction charges while the boots will take care of the Frenzy charges.

The Skill:
Spoiler

Poisonous concoction is an attack skill that requires the character to use no weapon in the main hand slot. It fires projectiles that hit the ground and can shotgun targets by hitting them with more than 1 projectile per attack. Increasing the AoE will ensure the projectile explosions overlap better. By default, the skill provides 20% chance to apply Withered on hit.

Links explanation:
Spoiler

Helmet, Boots and Gloves: We use one of them for the Despair curse and Precision + Arrogance. The second 4L is for the main auras. The third 4L is for Plaguebearer.

Body Armour: We 6L the concoction here. Vicious Projectiles, Unbound Ailments, Void Manipulation, Lesser Multiple Projectiles and Deadly ailments are the best supports we can get.

Shield: The movement and guard skills go here.

Ring: We put the Temporal Chains curse here. Your choice if you want to keep the Skitterbots' shocking aura or chilling aura. I prefer the shocking aura.

Keystones:
Spoiler

We don't really use any.

Masteries:
Spoiler

There are 14 masteries in total. 13 of which greatly contribute to the Polymath ascendancy:

50% more Accuracy Rating at Close Range

8% increased Evasion Rating per Frenzy Charge
8% increased Armour per Endurance Charge

Monsters cannot Block your Attacks

+1% Chance to Block Spell Damage per 5% Chance to Block Attack Damage

Deal 10% more Chaos Damage to enemies which have Energy Shield

3% increased Damage per Endurance, Frenzy or Power Charge

15% increased Duration of Ailments on Enemies
15% increased Skill Effect Duration

10% of Leech is Instant

+30 to maximum Life

Enemies Poisoned by you cannot deal Critical Strikes

Poisons you inflict deal Damage 20% faster

+1% to all maximum Elemental Resistances if you have Reserved Life and Mana

+1% Chance to Block Attack Damage per 5% Chance to Block on Equipped Shield

Prevent +3% of Suppressed Spell Damage

Tattoos:
Spoiler

There aren't any mandatory tattoos. I use Spell suppression and Freeze/Chill avoidance.

Gameplay:

Leveling:
Spoiler

Leveling with the skill itself is very easy.

Mapping:
Spoiler

The whole idea is to be a build for a relaxed gameplay. You can literally play it with the mouse only. Just spam the concoction and run around.
Plague Bearer helps with the clear speed and bursting bosses.

Budget (old):
Spoiler

Shield: Higher rolls go more expensive but it's usually around 3d;

Body Armour: Around 5d.

Belt: Higher life and resistances are expensive and can be around 10-15d but a 3~4d belt could be enough;

Helmet: Around 4-5d;

Boots: Around 1d for ones with a useful implicit;

Gloves: Less than 1d for ones with +1 Frenzy charge corruption;

Amulet: Around 6d + 2d for anointments;

Rings: The Profane proxy is around 1d with decent rolls. The rare ring can be around 3~4d.

Jewels:

-The Brutal Restraint should be around 1d;

-Forbidden Jewels: Very cheap. 150c for both;

-Watcher's eye can be different based on your choice of mods. I got mine for 7d.

Skill and Support Gems: By average all gems should be around 2~3d. Make sure you get Divergent Poisonous concoction because this is how we apply the Withered debuff.
Buying all best quality type and awakened gems can add up approximately 10 divines. Additionally, for maximizing the DPS, the Awakened Greater Multiple Projectiles and the Ramako Makanga tattoo can each add 1 projectile to the concoction but they are really expensive (20d for the AGMP and 8d for the tattoo).

OVERALL BUDGET: between 40 and 60 divine orbs.

Pros and Cons:
Spoiler

Good:
-Easy gameplay with very high defenses;
-Good clear speed and single target;
-Good for Expeditions and Heists;
-Maps with Reflect don't matter;
-Very viable for hardcore.

Bad:
-Poisons don't kill instantly.

Ideas and Alternative options:

Spoiler

-Most of the Spell suppression tattoos are not mandatory. I recommend finding a body armour with bonus to spell suppression;

-Versatile Combatant and Iron Reflexes Keystones are each literally 1 point away if you want to use either of them;

-The Devouring diadem is a perfect choice to have access to the Eldritch Battery keystone. It also provides enough energy shield in contribution with the Atziri's Reflection to sustain the skill's cost. But we would lose other stats like Life, Spell Suppress chance, etc. by taking this helmet;

-Keep in mind that there's a game limit for Damage Over Time that a target can take which is approximately 36m DPS, and damage scaling above that number is redundant;

-The skill can be played with Greater Multiple Projectiles but it's recommended to switch to Lesser Multiple Projectiles when you reach the DoT threshold to avoid draining life flask charges unnecessarily;

-Note that Plaguebearer cannot be affected directly by any damage support gem but rather by gems like Empower, Enhance, Increased AoE.

P.S. This post will be updated every now and then.

cool, I don't think I've seen a pc trickster before.

but honestly all concoction builds work better without their respective flasks after the 3.21 nerf. you lose some peak damage but not having to build around any flasks is a huge quality of life on top of being able to use other flasks

- Buff Grenades (Buff-Grenades)
Hello!

Thanks for the build.

It would be nice to have a step by step tree, like at different level for beginner to understand where to go 1st, with links by acts etc. You can manage this directly in PoB, by creating different trees/links/item by level.

Hope you lot of luck with drops!
Looks good I might have to try this out, thanks.
