Will the current Atlas (with the Atlas passive tree) be the final one?
So far, we've seen five major versions of the Atlas:
- The 'Atlas of Worlds' version (Shaper + 4 Guardians) - The 'War of the Atlas' version (new: Elder + Elder Guardians) - The 'Betrayal' version - The 'Watchstones' versions (new: Sirus + 4 Conquerors) - The 'Eldritch Horrors' version (new: Maven/Exarch/Eater + Black Star/Hunger) with the Atlas passive tree So far, it seems the newest version is the most well received one and the easiest to iterate upon to keep things fresh and exiting without completely reworking the Atlas. Just adding, (re)moving or reworking nodes is enough to create and change the entire endgame. Also it's probably the easiest to add more pinnacle bosses to. Honestly, I can't really think of any system that'd fit PoE better than the Atlas passive tree one, which makes me wonder what they're planning for PoE 2. Has GGG made any statements about this so far? Last bumped on Oct 8, 2023, 3:14:41 PM

POE is forever in beta, there will never be anything about it that's "final". That's assuming that GGG is keeping it running after poe2 ofc.

I think it is at least save to say, that the player agency that was introduced with the Atlas Tree will stay. It would be outrageous if it would get removed again. That being said, the Endgame will always be evolving so not sure the aforementioned agency will stay in the format it is delivered right now.

Oh man, I won't be surprised if the Atlas tree will have subtrees
"For we are not now that strength, which in old days moved Earth and Heaven. That which we are, we are; one equal strength of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will: to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield." - Ulysses, Tennyson

" Tbh.... that would be incredibly useful! "For we are not now that strength, which in old days moved Earth and Heaven. That which we are, we are; one equal strength of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will: to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield." - Ulysses, Tennyson
