Shouldn't gem stash tab sort gems by level?

Gems in gem stash tab are seperated by "level". What does that mean? It certaintly isn't a gem level or required level to equip a gem. Tab puts my awakened gems in level 72 category and other gems at random.

It sorts them by the level you need to equip Level 1 of that gem.

It does sort by level: 1, 2-19, 20, 21

I do agree that
I was expecting more the tabs to do the following - Uncut Gems sorted by level - Awaken Gems sorted by actual current level of the gems - Have filter for INT / DEX / STR gems. but the current tabs put all awaken gems in Level I part... it's not good. also sidenote POE 1 gems was way more easy to recognize... now I need to hover each awaken gems to see what is what.... Onslaught.
