Things (imo) that would make use of unused potential

the contents of this thread are public domain and can be used freely.
that said, here's a few thingies I'd like for GGG to take a look at:

Things (imo) that would make use of unused potential
1. this is more like just a personal preference but, why not make both Male &
Female version of every class...the graphics are already there:
Duellist & Scion – blonde duellist as scion, and a brown haired scion as duellist
Shadow & Ranger – same as...
Witch & Templar – again, same as...
Marauder & Lani (maybe Maramoa?)

2. some equipment:
Ranged weapons: Bow, Crossbow, Throwing weapons
If we take bows to be the benchmark, then a few things should be clarified:
Range – refers to a ranged weapon’s “short range”, as in the max range at which
the weapon deals full damage. Everything after is considered “long range” which lowers damage by X.

Crossbows would have a greater range and damage than bows but have a very
low rate of fire (att spd). Implicit mods could include Piercing, Armor Break
(ignore X% armor), Bleed, etc...
Throwing Weapons would have less range than bows, high att spd. As I have a
suggestion for 6 types of throwing weapons, damage, range, attack speed, and
critical should reflect the specific throwing weapon:
Throwing Skull – Witch – implicit may include “curse on hit”
Throwing Mace/Hammer - Templar – implicit may include “stun bonuses”
Throwing Axe – Marauder – implicit may include “bleeding, armor break”
Chakram – Duellist - implicit may include “ricochet”
Throwing Dagger – Ranger – best all arounder
Throwing Spikes – Shadow - implicit may include “ poison, piercing”
The biggest issue would be “remaking some ranged skills”.
Defences
Since there’s already a few pieces (sacrifical robes, or however it is called, the
body armor that gives you all 3 defences), why not make the whole series? You
could even make 3 versions (ver.1: armor/evasion-low, ES-medium; ver.2:
armor/ES-low, evasion-medium; ver.3: evasion/ES-low, armor-medium), and
then let players mix and match.
When I say low or medium what I mean is in relation to existing defensive items of the same level...

small add on...why is there only a few damage conversion support gems? is there an actual reason i don't know about_
:)

And now we come to the main issue(s)…but,
before I start I’d like to vent a little...that said, whatever I say is in No way ment as any kind of insult whatsoever or towards anybody, so I would like your understanding regarding my next words...

The one thing that I dislike about PoE, and it’s something that hasn’t been
adrresed since 2012 (yeah that’s when I started playin PoE...there were only act 1-3, then, like diablo, you’d get hard mode, then hell...or something), and that’s “CATERING TO BUILDS WITHOUT GIVING THEM A PROPPER PLAYGROUND TO
PLAY”...what I mean is, first, I don’t have anything against builds per se, how could I? If it weren’t for the “builds of the week” from the past I wouldn’t even have tried makin’ my own builds when I started playing, plus, Freedom of Building is the base of this game...or it was until “the usual suspects”. It's who I call the typically seen “steamroll over everything” zombie witch, tornado deadeye...etc. And because builds like that have “nowhere to show off” you get dumb things like:

Achievement: kill thousands of uber bosses...wth is that?! That is Not an
achievement...that is either:
A: a statistical impossibility, if you don’t play “the usual suspects”, or
B: a “walk in the park”, if you do play “the usual suspects”...and it doesn’t stop there. It's LITERALLY become “play the usual suspects or FORGET endgame
content, most of the time”. I mean what’s the point of billions of items when the usual 20 are used...?

Not to mention two other things:

One is something an in-game friend of mine wrote in his character msg. It made
me laugh so hard that I made a “pulp fiction” version of it:
SCOTTI 25:17 - “1.5M effective hp, 35.2M dps...broken AF”, and the

Second one is that people that do play “the usual suspects” usually just repeat
this same pattern for the last X leagues:
“steamroll everything – rinse/repeat for a month (I mean, you got to kill
thousands of uber bosses...lol) - complete it all within a month – grow bored and start playing something else until next league”...
Now, after all that said, you might better understand my position, given that I'm a solo player that likes to make my own builds for better or (usually) worse, because you (GGG) “have to adjust everything” to standards set by “the usuall suspects”, every other possible build becomes “worthless and unapealing”.
I mean, I made a build that can summon about 100 minnions, and I still don’t
believe anybody would play it as it’s not a “steamroll everything in sight” kind of build, even if it’s not that weak (still working on it, the scion is only around lvl 80... XD).

And all of that can be solved, and more gained, if GGG takes this few things
seriously in consideration:

1 – make it easier to reach lvl 100, even if playing solo. So far getting to lvl 100
if playing solo, and ofc not using “the usual suspects”, is again a statistical
impossibility, unless you PAY SOMEONE ELSE TO LVL UP YOUR CHARACTER?!?, I
mean...HALlOo?! That is to say, I'm not telling to just “award lvl 1oo to
everybody”, effort should still be invested...but this is ludicrous...100s of t16 corrupted rare maps for 5 or 10% xp gained, and all gone with 1 DEATH?!?. I had a character I raised until lvl 97 and after that I decided NEVER TO BOTHER with levelling up AFTER lvl 95...it is simply pointless...
If GGG still wants to keep the same amount of xp needed to get to lvl 1oo that’s also fine. What you could do is:

A – raise t16 maps to lvl 90 (It will come into play for a different reason later as well), and scale down by level accordingly... t15/89...etc., if that “raises the map lvl of the first map after Lioneye’s Watch in act 1 to 4, or whatever” it should be fine that way. WREACLAST WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A HELL HOLE, not a picknick you run through singing “la-la-la” while armageddonizing everything in sight...you can always readjust xp gain, or add more “early currency drops” (like trans or alch), not to mention getting rid of scroll fragments...3 normal items is 1 identify scroll...less doesn’t sell...

B – lower overall xp needed for levels 91 – 100, and redistribute that xp among levels 3 – 40 in a fair way so that players don’t end with being 3 levels over the base map level after clearing the first 2 maps...that’s why most players “run through beginning maps”...no need to do them. And I don’t think that was your intention, GGG...

And when a character reaches lvl 100, they get...

< insert drumroll please>

ARENA of WORLDS – a lvl 100, team exclusive special instance for 4 to 6 players. The Lore would be something along the lines of the Maven, being super happy with the atlas (or being steamrolled over enough times...dependint on build), has decided to create a special dimensional copy of the atlas, only for her most favoured “the usual ...champions”.

You could even turn it into an E-Sport game where teams of lvl 100 characters
would compete in fastest completion time for all t1-t5, t6-t10, or t11-t16 maps.

If you take also into account normal, magic, rare, and corrupted rare maps, it
gives you 12 different “Blocks for players to compete in”!
In said alternate version of the atlas, the maps are still placed in the same order as in the atlas, but with these very IMPORTANT DIFFERENCES:

1 – maps start at level 91 (t1 maps), and go all the way to LEVEL 106 (t16
maps)...yess you red correctly, t16 normal maps are level 106 in the Arena of
Worlds.

2 – EVERY ENEMY’S ASPECT is enhanced X times, depending on “tier”. That
MEANS EVERY ASPECT, INCLUDING SIZE!!:
Normal enemies – Everything x3
Magic enemies – Everything x5
Rare and Unique (Non-Boss) enemies – Everything x7
Map Boss – Everything x10

For that to work you’ll have to:
- Allow the players a greater zoom out feature, and
- Make some sort or “AGGRO Mechanic for Map Boss fights”. I have a rough idea
how it could look...but nothing concrete... I'll try to convey my idea by using the
table bellow.
Boss aggro
level ->
1 2 3 4 5
Player 1
Player 2
Player 3
Player 4
Player 1-4 represents the players, while
Boss aggro level represents “how much of a threat/nuisance” the Boss perceives
that particular player to be.

Level 1 - “some annoying fly is buzzing around” - the boss “takes notice” of the player. Usually no attack is directed against that player.

Level 2 - “you’re pissing me off” - the boss might throw some sort of attack at that player unless otherwise occupied, such as a player that has reached a higher aggro level.

Level 3 - “now ya’ dun’ it” - unless another player has reached an aggro level of 5, the boss will stop what it is doing and use a more damaging attack than at level 2.

Level 4 - “screaming bloody murder” - unless another player has reached an
aggro level of 5, the boss will either use an AoE against that player (if there’s a possibility of more victims), or unleash a single target skill that is difficult to avoid or something...

Level 5 - “you...die...now” - the boss becomes “locked in combat” against that
player for a set amount of time or something...treat as taunt without the
benefits...lol

And as for how the aggro-meter works...lets say that each aggro level needs a
set amount of “points”The player that is dealing the greatest damage, gets +3pts, while lowering every other player’s number of aggro points by –1pt.
Player(s) that deal damage to the boss, aside from the greatest damage dealer
get +2pts.Buffs or de-buffs could also be some sort of factor same as others.

...well, that’s about it...hope it helps..

if anyone's interested about the aforementioned "100 minnions" build, here 's the Pob code, though it's still a "prototype". if anyone makes an upgraded version, post the pob code here... XD
