Noob resistance and theory question
Elemental Question:
On my character tab is says resistance are (hypothetical, can't remember exact) Fire 76 / 104% Cold 77 / 120% Lightning 75 / 130% What does the % represent and why such large discrepancies when the first numbers a relatively close? Theory question: If one specs into Mark mastery - Marked Monster can not crit" and same character encounters a monster that "always crits", what happens? Is this like when the unstoppable force meets the immovable object? Does the universe just implode? Thanks and have a great day. Last bumped on May 30, 2023, 3:11:22 PM

Don't know the answer to your last question. Depends which takes priority.
The first is fairly straightforward. The last and highest numbers are the total resistances you have. The first number is the max resistance your character can actually use. Normally the max is 75%, but it can be a little higher based on gear or skill tree choices. It's actually good to have some leeway though, because in maps you can get reduced resistances, so having it a fair bit higher than your max means you still have the max. If that made sense  Say your max resistance is 75% (the default) Your total res on gear++ is 90% Then you run a map with effectively -15% to player resistances This mean you still have your max of 75%. If both those numbers were 75%, your actual resistance on that particular map would be 60%. |

Thanks Pangaerocks.
I read through it in the Wiki, talking about max and capped and uncapped and wasn't completely following it. Your explanation helps a lot. |
