[3.20] Shrapnel Balista Hierophant | Full Chaos | 20+ Totems



Intro and Mechanics

I was playing this build in 3.17, 3.18 and now 3.20.
Since then build haven't change as much. But it got buffed slighty in 3.19 (boots got 20% -> 25% movement speed and 9-12% -> 13-19% chaos res)
This build IS NOT budget friendly.

Build fucuses on stacking as much strength as possible.
Some uniques have their power related to how "strong" is your character.

Bow allows to have many totems - +1 totem per 200 str
Since hierophant have 5% more damage per summoned totem. This is goes to BIG numbers.

Boots gives 1 to 80 chaos damage per 80 str

Addtionally Body armour change basic 1% melee physical damage per 5 str to 3% melee physical damage per 10 str. This with combination of Iron Will Keystone convert melee damage from strength to spell damage. At this point every 10 str grants 3% spell damage and finally Helmet make additions and reductions to spell damage also apply to attack damage at 150% of value. So every 10 str gives whopping 4.5% attack damage.

Shrapnel ballista can hit multiple times with same attack. So getting a lot of projectiles is addtional way to gain extra damage. I achieved 10 arrows. If all 21 ballista's attack at the same time they can hit up to 210 times. This can provide to 140+ Millions Chaos Damage per Second.

Gear

Required uniques:

Boots:

Gives main source of damage, 15-18% increased strength, some chaos resistance and 25% movement speed. But you cannot deal NON-CHAOS damage.

Body armour:

Increase bonus of stacking strength from 1% per 10 str to 3% per 10 str. Gives 60-120 str and 1% chance to block attacks per 50 str.

Bow:

Adds +1 to maximum shrapnel balista per 200 str.

Helmet:

Make additions and reductions to spell damage also apply to attack damage at 150% of value.

Gloves:

Make critical strike multiplayer always 300%.
If you are able to get crit multi over 300% then use rare gloves with str and other useful stats.


Other gear


Will be your best friend. Remember to use it on all of your jewelerry to maximize your strength.

Amulet:

Astramentis
Eyes of the greatwolf (+% attributes and +#% maximum life)

Rare Shaper & Warlord influence
Amber amulet
Agate amulet if you have issues with Int

Look for:

+#% attributes
+#% strength
+# strength
1% damage per 15 strength
+# life

+#% attributes and +#% strength can be easly made with Awakener's orb.


Rings:

Synhesised Rings with %str avoid Bone rings base since they roll minion related mods
Other rare rings

Look for:

+# strength (Essence of Rage)
+# All attributes
+#% Resistances
+# Life


Belt:

Synthesised Rare Belt with 13-15% str beware of 14% str with quality belts
Cyclopean Coil

Look for:

+# strength (Essence of Rage)
+#% Resistances
+# Life


Quiver:

Synthesised Rare Quiver with 5% str
Rare Quiver

Look for:

+# strength (Essence of Rage)
+# Addtional arrow
+#% Resistances
+# Life




Jewels

2x Split Personality with +5 str and +40 accuraty, or if you have 100% chance to hit then +5 str and +5 life.


2x Large cluster jewels 12 passives with 10% spell damage

Look for:

#% effect of passives (for 35% ilvl 84+)

+# strength
+# all attributes
+#% chaos resistances
+#% all elemental resistances


1x Medium cluster jewel 4 passives with 12% totem damage

with required:

Ancestral Echo (20% placement speed and 10% attack speed)
Sleepless Sentries (onslaugth)



1x Lethal pride

Emperor's Might (4-6% increased strength)



Emperor's Mastery (5-7% increased attributes, 4% maximum life)

Ballance of terror (inflict wither on hit if casted despair in past 10s, +#% all resistances)



Efficient Training (16-24 str, transform int to str in radius)



Flasks

Dying Sun (+2 arrows or +3 arrows with 50%+ increased effect)

If you have 21/20 Anomalous Shrapnel Balista then use Awakened Chaos damage (lvl: 5 or 6) for addtional totems
You can upgrade Void Manipulation to Awakened verion.

Lifetap(lvl 1) + Faster attacks + Assassin's Mark + Culling Strike + Frenzy

Ajust level of precision to fit unreserved mana, Enlighten allows to get higher precision level.

I have added "900% more damage" to mimic 10 projectiles that hit at the same time.
Total DPS is in perfect contitions. But you should expect 60-80% of that value at all time.

Do you get unnerved from anywhere?
Does unnerve benefit the build in someway when converting spell to attack damage nodes?
