Superfuse

Coming at the end of January. The way you're able to fine tune skills to fit unique play stiles looks pretty cool. It's what I thought GGG wanted to do with PoE 10 years ago.

What do you folks think of this one? https://store.steampowered.com/app/1770080/Superfuse/

Can't quite get a clear picture of how this differs from PoE or Undecember yet, seeming to use elements of both (the skill customisation grid is very Undecember, and the flexibility is very PoE) but wishlisted anyway. Not in love with the art style but those bloodsplosions are satisfying.

Right now I'm probably happier playing the PoE-inspired Vampire Survivors clone Spellbook Demonslayers, which basically fires all your skills off as soon as they're ready and lets you focus on positioning aiming, BUT if this has something similar I'm definitely interested. I've discovered I have little time or patience for micromanaging skills in ARPGs these days, and so few ARPGs truly reward it anyway.

I agree that it looks like a lot of fiddling. Maybe it's the fun kind of fiddling? Crossing my fingers for a trial :)

Checking out what Spellbook Demonslayers is all about for science!

Jeeze, that was quick. Applied for Superfuse playtest and received an invitation in a few hours.

Thanks for the rec! Gonna give this a whirl while I'm between chapters.:)

PS controller for Spellbook. Trust me.

edit: oh how odd. the playtest is through steam, but it required me to link an Epic Games account. That might be a deal breaker for some.

Okay this is fun. Definitely playtest-jank but it's got the skeleton for an enjoyable, lightweight sci-fi/comic bookish murderfest. Surprising amount of voicework. The aesthetic is growing on me.

Ugh. It probably is for me. Linux doesn't usually play nice with extra hoops to jump through. I looked at spellbook. Yikes! Might make me dizzy :)

You can turn out auto-aiming with Spellbook which basically turns it into a game of dodge the baddies while spewing a stupid amount of deadly projectiles with creative upgrades. It's not so bad and you get into a zen-like state before long. I do not deal well with motion in games (it's honestly embarrassing how quickly some give me motion sickness) but Spellbook is fine. YMMV. It's only a few bucks though so what's the risk? Definitely worth the price of entry. Really hardwworking devs too.

Maybe I'll take a closer look-see. Hope it's been a good holiday so far!

It has. A lot of work done (per my shifting signature), some catch up with family, a few 'silly but oddly useful' gifts (eg the GF got me a wall thermometer because I'm always bitching about how hot this study gets in summer -- not that hot, as it turns out, but I STILL FEEL IT), some cool new games discovered (per the generic 'other games than PoE' thread), and a little Japanese feast planned for tonight since an old friend got us a bottle of fancy-pants saké for Christmas.

:)

I haven't touched Superfuse since that one test run, just because of all the above. Mostly the work but also because it is pre-EA and you can tell. But you should apply for the playtest because I think it'll turn out pretty good if they keep at it.

I'd rather be burned on a $10-15 playtest/EA than get suckered into a $50+ kickstarter that might never even eventuate. At least with the playtest I get SOME of my money's worth.
