Minion builds need resistances or not ?

Hi guys, I'm playing a minion necro for the first time and I really do anjoy it.

But I'm weak ATM.

My res are low (especialy chaos at -31%).

But when I'm looking on various minion guides they all seems to have low resisance.

I use a bismuke flask (35% all res) wich help at time but I'm still getting one shoted trying to do merc lab and most T2 maps.

Am I just bad or si it my gear ?

I'm still kinda poor and doing T1 maps doesn't earn me lots of currency.

Like every character in poe minion characters too do need resistances as well as other defensive layers.
Since you are playing necromancer, it is fairly easy to establish maximum spell and attack block with bone offering. You could focus on those and your resistances. Also you need determination and defiance banner to increase your armour on minions and yourself to help with your defence.

The thread might not belong this section but you could get better help if you point out which build you are following or which skill is in your mind to use in the future as your main minion summon.

Seems like you are going with mage skeletons so you need to put in the dead reckoning jewel in your tree where there are intelligence points around the jewel slot. That will make them work like a charm ^^

Purity of Elements* alone will cap your minions' resistances.

*Depending on spectres used, you may need anomalous quality.

The minions have a baseline elemental resistance of 40%. If you take the commander of darkness ascendency you get another 30%. Otherwise there are minion rings that can give you tons of extra res. But it doesn't sound like the minion resistances are your issue with dying in white maps. Check out a build guide here or on Youtube that is labeled with "league starter", if you follow that you should have no problems. If you need currency to get some basic mapping gear then try the chaos orb vendor recipe (full sets of unidentified rare gear item level 65-75 sells for 2 chaos). A couple of those should get you the gear you need.

all resists except chaos have to be at least 75%

Allocate Commander of Darkness. If you add Purity of Elements on top of it, should be easy to cap your resists without flasks.
