3.19 Life recoup loop CWDT Elementalist -- Eyefriendly, handfriendly, healthy 0 button gameplay
Hi guys, the Build in this guide uses multiple Cast when damage taken (CWDT) loops in combination with a high amount of life recoup to deal massive amounts of damage and clear maps quickly.
Pros, cons and budget
This build is not possible on a low budget. The build-enabling items set a minimum budget of around 150 divines for this build, which is about the cost of my setup. Pros: No-button map clear, smooth mapping, incredible single target Cons: Prone to oneshots sometimes, have to avoid temporal bubble rares
Step 1: Setting up a CWDT loop
To setup an endless CWDT loop, all you technically need is an heartbound loop ring and a CWDT linked with summon skeletons. Since this loop would be awefully slow, we also use anomalous minion speed support with high quality and 3 to dust unique jewels. These sources of reduced duration should add up to 99% reduced duration. To finetune the cooldown of CWDT and the skeleton duration, a less duration support is used.
Step 2: Taking proper damage from a CWDT loop
So now that we have a running CWDT loop, what do we actually want to do? We want to proc a lvl 20 CWDT with every proc of our loop. Using a divergent lvl 20 CWDT this requires 2618 damage. The despawning skeletons provide 1150 (3x350) of this damage, which means we still need to take another 1468. To do so, we use a second CWDT loop with forbidden rite. Depending on our maximum life and energy shield, we need the right amount of chaos resistance to take at least 1468 damage from forbidden rite.
Step 3: Surviving 2618 self damage 5+ times a second
Now we have running loops to trigger lvl 20 CWDT to do damage (more on this later), we still need to not instantly suicide. To do so, we use life recoup. This we get mainly from 2 sources: . This gives us over 100% life recoup, which means we are immortal to non-burst damage that kills us in more than 3 seconds, including our self damage. The only remaining issue in this is "ramping up" the recoup before suiciding, which leads us to step 4.
Step 4: Starting a loop without suiciding
How do we even start the loop? We weapon swap twice quickly, to a weapon with the insantiy essence mod "Trigger lvl 20 spectral spirits when equipped". Swapping back to annihilating light kills these spectral spirits and starts the loop. While we recoup more life than we take damage, we can still suicide before our life recoup has reached its maximum. To work around this we use . Before activating our loop we use steelskin to take up some of the activation damage, while also triggering a chaos resist flask which caps our chaos resistance, drasticly reducing our forbidden rite self damage temporarily. In addition the amethyst flask is crafted with reduced mana cost since mana cost is also paid for by recoup (which needs to ramp up).
Step 5: Dealing damage
To deal damage, we use 2x 6l CWDT setups. In one of those we run an arc gem for clearing (which clears very nicely with the high cast speed and casting while moving), while also running an eye of winter and a ball lightning for single target. To boost our single target massively we use the annihilating light staff for tripple damage and an amulet with unveiled projectile speed which has been lake-mirrored to be negative, providing us with near zero projectile speed, massively increasing the hit counts of ball lightning and eye of winter.
Step 6: Capping resistances with Annihilating Light
To cap resistances we use a purity of elements aura with a sublime vision jewel to boost our max resistances. Since we use a lot of mana, we run eternal blessing. In addition to this, we used high resistances on all our rare gear, while also getting the right amount of chaos resistance (45 for my life/es totals).
Other mechanics
We also run the corrupted soul keystone from the glorious vanity timeless jewel. To obtain the required amount of jewel sockets we run 2 large cluster jewels.
Troubleshooting
Issue 1: Loop turns of: Solution: Avoid physical damage reduction (both armour and other sources) since that will deactivate your loop by reducing heartbound loop damage. Other possible issues are: Cooldown recovery map mod, party member running malevolence or determination, skeletons die before expiring (avoided by using anomalous summon skeletons) Issue 2: Loop occasionally turns of mid map? Solution: Avoid temporal bubble mobs due to their cooldown recovery rate reduction Issue 3: Loop turns of when changing to boss arena? Solution: Quickly weapon swap twice to turn the loop back on, dont idle in grace period or your life recoup runs out and turning back on will be more dangerous.
