New player looking for tips

Hey guys,

So I am basically about a 2-3 wk old player that literally got extremely addicted to the game in a short period of time. This is my second char and I looked after a guide on website for Purifying Flame Inquisitor.

I finished the campaign on this char yday and started mapping. My damage at the moment at lvl 4 maps feels amazing, I am running over the mobs, but I am defo struggling with resistances and getting oneshot occasionally. I am not sure if taking Chaos Res is a good choice or changing shield, I chose this one as it activates leech on the onehand.

I was also wondering if taking the shield block next to Avatar of Fire was worth it.

I've been getting used to using PoB but I still don't know enough about the game to use it optimally.

On the bright side I got lucky with an exalted orb drop early on and I was able to get some of the guide's recommended gear. I know my links, etc are not perfect, but I don't want to gamba on this at the moment as I don't have enough fusing and color thingies.

What I am wondering about is what it is better to keep Vaal Discipline or get Vitality and perma Righteous Fire, the damage increase from RF seems insane and I would love to hear opinions on this too. My understanding is that only Cast on support skills matter for how the chain is linked in order, so I can easily drop 20 chaos shards to get 2 of the Devour Diadem helms to test either options.

I would be looking forward to some tips and tricks you can give me on how to proceed on the tree from here.

I am clearing Level 10 maps now, no issues with it, however, the bosses are being a bit hard. I switch the shield for Magna Eclipse which does appear to have helped.

I am testing Grace over Vitality/Discipline at the moment as I don't need mana due to Eldricht Battery.

I don't know if purifying flame is meta
And I don't know much about purifying flame.

Playing a meta build is the fastest way to progress and learn the game


Since you already have a templar, some of the templar meta builds are Righteous Fire and Spark

Watch Pohx Righteous fire guides, play that.

Otherwise play a necromancer minion build or some other easy build.
