Ping is either 50 or 200 depending on instance

I've had this issue since last year but it's only now that it's really become insufferable when I'm using multiple movement abilities to get around the map quickly. Oftentimes my character will snap back to where it was before I tapped the key for the movement skill.

When I enter a portal, use a waypoint, or any form of travel through instances, sometimes I get really low ping (30-50ms) to really high ping (200-250). Hopefully something can be done about it because it's really driving down my motivation to keep playing an otherwise wonderful game.

What PoE gateway are you using ?

Please monitor your instance IP and make a list of good and bad.
My guess is that you will have a "group" of good and "bad" instance IP's
Make a WinMTR report to some of the IP's from each group.

What you have to remember is that even though you have selected XX PoE gateway at login, if that is close to max capacity then it will start making new play instances on other PoE gateways around the world without telling you....

That does seem to be the case. I've checked the instance IPs for the low and high ping and they're two different ones, but I have no idea how to differentiate them.

Does that mean I can't do anything about it?

Looks like that third node is the culprit. When you get a "good" instance, that node appears stable and behaving itself. When you get a "bad" one, that node starts acting up and it affects everything after it to some degree. It seems that that node, along with the hkg node may be getting overloaded a tad causing your issues.

This is an ISP issue, sadly. If you want to see if anything can be done, I would contact them and let them know that you are getting some latency at that node and it just gets worse as your trace goes on. Make sure that they see that MTR as that's the proof that they will need to see that something is borked.

There is really nothing you yourself can do to fix this. :( I don't know what, if anything, they will do for you. The SG service providers have a history of not fixing their shit, so it's sorta hit or miss at this point whether they will help you out.

You *could* try a VPN to see if that helps ease some things for you, as that may route your traffic around those affected nodes. I use NordVPN myself and would recommend them highly although you may have better luck with another one - it just depends really.
