POE mobile game is currently being developed.
From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_mobile_games
We can see that mobile games are the new currency maker, with many mobile games making more than $1 billion throughout their lifetime. https://www.gamespot.com/articles/thanks-to-path-of-exile-and-mobile-games-new-zeala/1100-6473508/#:~:text=Entertainment-,Thanks%20To%20Path%20Of%20Exile%20And%20Mobile%20Games%2C%20New%20Zealand,to%20%24203%20million%20in%202019. showed that POE did a magnificent profit of $200 million per year. POE knows that there is a lot of potential in the mobile market and I am very excited about that, because POE unlike the other mobile games, is very against pay to win system. POE anti pay to win system will hopefully change the global mobile game market for the better, forcing other game developers to do it the right way.

Happy april fool's day.

I'd definitely give this a shot. Would be cool if cross progression was a thing as well.

the funny thing is, the mobile market is grossing as well as it does because it pay to win all the way.
Current Build: Penance Brand
God build?! https://pobb.in/bO32dZtLjji5 |

I think it's great that there's a lot of potential in the mobile gaming market, and I'm looking forward to seeing what 2023 and beyond will bring.

I'm not sure how GGG will develop a mobile game. Mobile games need quality of life because players are playing in short bursts of time on a tiny screen.
The PC POE version is very much against quality of life. 8 mod maps are the new alch and go.

" https://www.pathofexile.com/mobile Some info there, albeit from a very early test. edit: eh, OP hid the link. Whatever. Have it again. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable. Last edited by Foreverhappychan on Dec 17, 2022, 2:53:11 AM

" Thanks. Wow, that video is 3 years old. Maybe they should have farmed out POE mobile to Tencent. Tencent could have cranked something out in a year. 8 mod maps are the new alch and go.

Eh, GGG's ultimate owners are probably banking on this much more than PoE mobile:
Honor of Kings: World Gameplay Trailer (English subs) Tencent's subtle-as-a-brick shot at Genshin. And then there's the incredibly unlikely contender by Papergames: Infinity Nikki, an open world arpg *based on a disgustingly successful dress up game almost no trve gamer has heard of* but some might have partners who at least tried it. Mine played it for a while until the p2w 'hell events' became too much. Seems all the money this Chinese behemoth made from cashed-up fashion-lovers went into Infinity Nikki, because it's somehow pulled in a former director of Zelda... Last I checked both Timi Studio Group and Papergames were worth a lot more than GGG. In 2020 TiMi brought in $10b US, and Papergames has well over a hundred million players across their Nikki series. So yeah, I'd be surprised if Tencent really cared all that much about a mobile version of PoE -- not to mention China is already all the fuck into Immortal... https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable. You guys DO know the mobile games that really get the fat bucks are the polar oposite of poe in many ways:
-Heavy focus on multiplayer with pay to win to reward a very predatory enviroment where character power is dictated by packs bought -Speaking about pay to win, the "meta" on the average big mobile game is not spend just $100 every month: it often devolves into a whole car every month -Mobile games also need to focus around very short sessions, poe is not very friendly to people who just log to run single maps, ARPGs in general kinda need to have the drop table considering players chain content so the game is not completely done in just a month, but that implies a guy running just small number of maps will get frustrated because the chance to get something each login will be poor -Honestly, asking to port poe on mobile may be asking too much... the game is a memory vampire as it is and demands a pc far above what should be needed for what we see. Adapting to consoles is one thing, as those have specs close to average pcs, but mobiles are akin to a playstation 2 in terms of processor. GGG would need some serious code re-write to make it happen, and considering the game is not moving foward, but backwards when it comes to processing-efficiency, i would say its likely beyond them -You guys are also not the market that gives mobile the fat bucks: Mobile scene makes the brunt of the cash on china and asia in general. The public there is quite different from the west, and the mobile player in general is VERY different from the average pc/console player. Even if poe mobile does come out, if it is aiming for the big money, then it will be a game the average poe player will hate(hence... Diablo Immortal: had an awesome start, but number of active accs is falling steadly-to the surprise of no one) | |
pretty sure I just said all of that but okay.
