End-game target stats

Hello everyone,

This league is the first time I’ve completed the main storyline, and I have a few questions about stat targets. First, I’m playing a ranger, and went with the raider ascendancy tree. My character is currently level 80, and I’m having trouble with getting destroyed by some of the maps content.

Once I started running into this issue, I did some passive tree refunds and focused on defense-type skills. Right now, my operating stats (with grace, but no other auras) are currently as follows:

Life - 2,561
Mana - 827
Energy Shield - 107
Armor - 3,704
Evasion - 62,554

Fire Res - +51%
Cold Res - +72%
Lightning Res - +57%
Chaos Res - +26%

Spell damage suppression chance - 97%
Ignite, Chill, Freeze, and Shock avoidance - 100% for all
Movement speed modifier - +120%

My current build gives me permanent Onslaught as well as Phasing, and my approach has mainly been to just keep moving as much as possible to avoid being hit. DPS hasn’t really been much of an issue, except for with some map bosses and strong archnemesis enemies.

The primary issue has been just getting my ass kicked excessively fast against some enemies. This hasn’t yet prevented me from progressing in the atlas, but I do almost instantly get killed by any enemies from the Immortal Syndicate or Einhar’s beasts, and I frequently fail out of incursions into the Temple of Atzoatl. This has led me to basically avoid those encounters and never to use the map device to add them to a map out of concern for failing the map.

I’m currently around map tier 6-7 unlocked, and have 34/117 points earned for the atlas skill tree. I pretty much exclusively play solo.

What are some recommended target stats for a solo ranger at my point in the game? Any other tips are welcome, and would be greatly appreciated.

First and foremost:

Cap your elemental resists.

You want your fire, cold, and lightning resists to be 75%.

With your 51% Fire res, you're basically taking double damage from fire attacks.

The game is balanced around players having capped resists, except for Chaos.

You already have positive Chaos Res, so you're doing OK there.

60k evasion is good too.

Your life is *super* low.

Even most glass cannon builds have over 3k life. Aim for 5k if you want to be able to take any hits from rare enemies or bosses.

To some extent, just getting levels will help with that. OTOH, it gets harder and harder to level up, the more you die (since you lose some progress toward your next level each time you die).

I see that you're wearing mostly uniques. Possibly you're a former Diablo player, where builds are all Legendary and Set items? In PoE, you generally want to try limit the number of uniques you're using, because very few of them have both life and resists, and many have neither.

Consider replacing your helm and amulet with rare items that have high life rolls (at *least* 80+ on helm, 50+ on amulet), and enough resists to get you capped.

Your rare ring could also stand to have a lot more resists on it.

Honestly, the belt should probably be a rare too, although that one is strong.

Aim to eventually replace those boots with Shaper influenced boots, as they can still have the "chance to avoid ailments" but also more Life and Resists.
