SHANWAN Generic PlayStation controller doesn't work on Linux with PS driver but does with XBOXDRV

I wanted to use the Linux kernel driver but had to use XboxDRV like this:

sudo xboxdrv --detach-kernel-driver

Old goodie, just here for reference. After that, the controller no longer auto-disconnect when activated.

EDIT:
Steam version, downloading Standalone to test

Installed XINPUT and the PoE Standalone version works with PS driver. So playing with the native driver now :P

NOTE: Steam doesn't work well eve with XINPUT installed with the distro's package
