My settings doesn't saves, please help

Then my most experienced friend said to change the log in the game files (where the settings is). But i cannot - it was clear as a New Years snow! Then he get me his log and said - just replace it with mine. And after that...it was his settings! Success! Horray, right?
NO! Because my friend is playing without any music and less sounds i need to change it. EVERY. TIME. Because GUESS WHAT?! It didn't fix the problem! Now i still need to change the settings each and every time im entering the game.
I've remember that i had a situation like that earlier, but i played PoE only...a few hours, i guess? That wasn't a big deal, back in the days. But now, when i want to play with my friends for DAYS this IS an actual problem. Can someone please help me? I want to get the best gaming experience from this game, but with this...bug, i guess, it's not possible.
