A different Suggestion for better console controls (for league mechanics specifically)

So a lot of people are asking for a L2+R2 input for the Nightmare shift.
I can see that one working, and there are several issues with the current L3+Touchpad method, however with L2 and R2 being used for skill slot sets it could cause some issues.
I'd like to offer up another method, one that would also open improvements for other league mechanics, and is even already sort-of implemented:
Expand the options of putting league mechanic specific things in the skill slots. This already exists for Flares and Dynamite in Delve, and the current L3+Thouchpad(Or whatever it is on Xbox) method is already set up to be proximity based (Shift to Nightmare becomes unavailable while near a Expedition).
As such a generic "league mechanic" skill could be made available within the skill selection for the existing Facebuttons+Triggers setup to avoid the issues with L3.
Now of course this takes up one of the current 12 skill slots, but that is already partially solved thanks to the very smart implementation of allowing us to use skills from within the skill selection, which negates the need to have "always on" auras in actual skill slots.
Now to improve on this skill slot situation, there are also various changes that could be made to improve it further.
A rather simple and already highly requested one would be a "Use while moving" skill slot that emulates the currently very popular PC method of binding a cooldown based, instant cast skill to left mouse button so it gets automatically used while moving.
More involved options also exist, GGG could add something like L2+R2 for a 4th set of skill slots, or go even further with FF14 console methods such as "Hold L2 first, then, while still holding L2 push and hold R2 for a "L2->R2" set, reverting to the "just L2" set when R2 is released, with another set being available for the reversed "R2->L2" input" (it makes much more sense once you do it rather then have it explained in text).
With those options there would be about 16 or 20 skill slots instead of the current 12, which could allow the implementation of even more specific "league mechanic activation skills" to be bound to inputs that aren't super fast or intuitive, but are much less unreliable then things like "Press AND HOLD the stick you use to move" and "then also press the thing that OPENS YOUR INVENTORY and DISABLES your ability to move, if the first unreliable input isn't being properly registered" which cause all sorts of issues right now.

Interesting, FF14's cross hotbar system could work pretty well if implemented correctly, it's a good idea and also a good game. Only a couple a weeks now until we go to the moon and wraeclast will look tiny from space.
