Crackling lance help please

Hi - ive never made a build before - would appreciate some pointers. I copied some stuff from this old build to make it but changed the concept a fair bit. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3055675

I made this https://pastebin.com/WMYu3sbE build as a planner before the patch and was pretty happy.

The patch hit and i was expecting good things but i was really surprised when the DPS was pretty bad. This is the best i could get it. https://pastebin.com/63ymB2U9.


Note this build is still spell block capped - it appears PoB isnt picking up the 'safeguard' node and applying the spell block from it.

DPS went from 6m to 4m pretty much.

Im open to help as i have never played crackling lance before.
