Still no next gen update?

From a former pc player the graphics of this game is night and day between pc and consoles. This game would really take off on next gen hardware.. Is there any chants devs are working on a upgrade

Would be nice, but not expecting anything.

I don't have any insider information, but I do have relevant knowledge about development, and observation of GGG's patterns.

Personally, I don't expect a next-gen client before PoE2 launches. And I don't expect PoE2 to launch for AT LEAST 18 months, probably more like 2-3 years.

I agree with this timeframe, assuming everything follows the normal large expansions schedule.

Beta is confirmed for 2022 at the earliest which means the earliest we will see PoE 2 would be Q1 2023. But I feel like it'll maybe be 2024.

Its a shame that we would have to wait till poe2 for a next gen upgrade. With diablo 2 and diablo 4 both comming out befoe poe 2 you would think there would be more urgency to build on the playerbase. I do understand that since this is a free game the budget is lower but if they want to keep players from leaving for the 2 new diablos they better start upgrading this game....

What makes you think Diablo 4 is coming out before PoE2?

Current well-informed guesses are putting the D4 launch in late '23 or sometime in '24.

I personally predict D4 will come out 6-12 months *after* PoE2.

However, it's really unfortunate GGG's communication with console gamers, waiting 2-3 years for a decent optimization for next-gen consoles is a joke. In the end, what game improvements are they working on for us console gamers?

Sometimes it does feel like they're forgetting about us... but we never really know what they're working on in the background.

Harvest added in-game Chat.

Heist added Guilds, and fixed the excessive crashing on PS4.

Ritual contained a bunch of UI improvements.

Ultimatum hasn't added much meaningful, but they did take our feedback on how to fix the league mechanic on console (do you remember how horrible it was at the start of the league when you would accidentally end or continue an Ultimatum because you had been trying to use a flask?).

Wait to see what the "console-specific changes" section of the new league patch notes say, and probably the .2 update for that league as well.

Maybe they'll do something really cool for us. Some trade market improvements or add private league support. Who knows?
