Is there a way to Disable Escape Key/Menu temporarily ie. while I'm in a heist

Would like to just have a keystroke to enable/disable the esc key so I don't die to opening the menu in the heat of battle!

Removing the keycap still leaves the stub which gets hit as well.

Thinking there must be an AHK script or something out there?

Simply allowing to reassign the esc key would work if they see fit.

I second this request. I've lost count of how many times I died in a heated battle because I accidentally pressed the escape key when I meant to press the #1 key.

I know we still need the ESC key, but could we disable it or reassign that function to some other key it would be better. Losing 10% of your experience because you accidentally hit that key sours your mood and slows real gameplay advancement.

How is it still not possible to remap that command?
