So... reworked Inquisitor ascendancy now opens up possibility to go cast on crit: Righteous Providence - "1% increased Critical Strike Chance per point of Strength or Intelligence, whichever is lower. It also grants 50 points to strength and intelligence." Now maybe we can combine that with Mjolner and some aura stacking? Shall we...

How this build works:
-----------------------------

Firs of all this is Low Life build for more DPS hovewer it is very tanky at the same time.

Build utilize dual trigger setup with Arc being triggered by Mjolner and Ball Lightning by Cast on Crit gem.

Arc is socketed in Mjolner because of +1 chain property on Mjolner. Arc gets more damage per remaining chain so thats a no brainer. Arc will be triggered on each succesful melee hit with Mjolner, doesnt matter if it crits or not.

Ball Lightning is socketed in chest with CoC setup and will be triggered on each succesful melee critical hit.

Cyclone is used as a trigger for both Arc and Ball Lightning. Mainly because of its high base attack speed but also because of its mobility aka DPS on the move.

Build uses many unique items:



The Torrent's Reclamation unique belt is just excelent, its a BIS because it provides increased attack speed, more movement speed and more attack speed (via Slipstream aura casted by Greater Harbinger of Time), 14%+ increased cooldown recovery rate and increased energy shield recovery rate. This belt provides tons of DPS, mobility and sustain for the build and it is hands down the most important item. Cheaper alternative The Flow Unthethered will do in low lvl maps but upgrade to this one ASAP. Greater Harbinger of Time vs "regular" Harbinger of Time means Slipstream aura will be casted more frequent (about 80% uptime) but more importantly - it will affect only you and not enemies around you which is the case with "regular" Harbinger of Time. 14%+ increased cooldown recovery allows for up to 7.5 casts/s of both Arc and Ball Lightning, increased energy shield recovery rate affects any form of ES recovery like leech, regen etc. Use "defence" Catalysts here to increase those values.



Prism Guardian reserves auras on life with +2 to lvl and reduced mana reserved, allowing efficient low life with more auras. Also build uses lvl 21 Purity of Fire, Light and Ice, this provides lvl 23 for all three Purities thus +5% to maximum resistances. Together with 220% aura effect this provides +11% to all maximum resitances.



Shaper's Touch (doesnt have to be legacy variant) adds tons of accuracy and decent ammount of ES. "Attacks have +x% to critical strike chance" corruption is not mandatory but nice to have - it will only affect trigger rate of your Ball Lightning. However running lvl 20 Precision aura at 200% effect solves most of our accuracy problems and thus Shaper's Touch arent necessary, I can see a really good rare gloves here.



The Crown of the Inward Eye is used because of a) high ES, Life and Mana boost and b) Transfiguration of Soul - a passive skill "Increases and Reductions to Maximum Energy Shield also apply to Spell Damage at 30% of their value". This adds about 100% increased spell damage in this build.



Mjolner, enough said. Fortify on hit corruption is best imo. Attack speed corruption is nice but attack speed can be achieved via jewels. Fortify on hit is really needed for end-game content.



Presence of Chayula is a perfect fit for any Low Life build, converting our useless life into usefull energy shield, adding hight chaos resistance and stun immunity on top. Use "life and mana" Catalysts here to increase the value of life being converted to energy shield from base 20% to 24% at 20% quality. BIS annoint is "Utmost Might", providing +40 str together with 8% increased str.



4x aura effect jewels are used to reach 200%+ aura effect breakpoint. This build runs 8 auras in total, both defensive and offensive ones. There is base 30% of increased aura effect from passive skill tree, 70% must be achieved via jewels. The most effective ones are as one shown above: Replenishing Presence + First Among Equals. Any other usefull stat like str, dex, int, energy shield, damage or chaos res is a win. You need 18% increased aura effect per jewel on average.



Efficient Training unique jewel Is used to convert inteligence to much needed strenght. Best slot to socket it is near (top of) Elemental Equilibrium as it will grab also templar-starting intelligence points.



Thread of Hope is used to grab some really nice passives near Witch starting location. Must be "large" variant, not "very large" and not "medium" or "small". Check PoB for more details.



And finally a Watcher's Eye. The most important stat here is "increased energy shield recovery rate while affected by Discipline". However "energy shield on hit" will be also really good.


The key role of Inquisitor ascendancy
-------------------------------------------

Recommended Ascendancy order:



Sanctuary + Pious Path combined with Zealoth's Oath Keystone and Vitality aura (runed at 200%+ effect) grants us high energy shield regen (well over 2k ES per second in fact) but also immunity to chill, freeze, shock and ignite because of being on Consecrated Ground. CG will trigger each time we stand for at least a moment and than linger for 4 sec afterwards. Using travel skill like Flame Dash will also trigger CG, Cycloning in place will also count as being stationary thus triggering CG. Also CG grants +100% to critical strike chance vs enemies that are standing on it.


Righteus Providence + Inevitable Judgement are pure offence. Mjolner requires 412 str to wear, thats allready +412% to global critical strike chance via Righteus Providence(intelligence will be most likely higher than strenght in this build). We take Inevitable Judgement as last (uber lab). Becuase of high (almost capped) critical strike chance our spells will deliver full elemental dmg vs bosses.


How to lvl this build:

Lvl as Hollow Palm using Dexterity nodes and life nodes that are near by the main passive skill tree. Finish campaign as Hollow Palm, respec and equip Mjolner gear at lvl 70. Use this guide for Hollow Palm:

Normal and Cruel lab can be done while lvling as Hollow Palm. Merci lab should be done with full Mjolner gear with at least 5k ES pool. Uber Lab can be done with at least 7k ES.

Use Herald of Ash and Hatred while lvling as Hollow Palm.


Gear importance order while lvling:

1. [Stage 1 - white maps and some yellow]: Mjolner + Shaper's Touch + good rare ES belt or The Flow Unthethered + 5l chest with life + ES + ES helmet - play as hybrid life/ES.

2. [Stage 2 - yellow maps and low tier red maps]: + 4l/5l Shavs + Presence of Chayula + Prism Guardian - switch to low life, use more auras, aim for at least 150% aura effect at this stage.

3. [Stage 3 - higher tier red maps]: + The Crown of the Inward Eye + The Torrents Reclamation + Nice ES boots, aim for 200% aura effect at this stage.

4. [Final/end-game Stage]: from left to right: + fortify corruption on Mjolner + lvl 21 Purities + ES on hit or ES recovery Watcher's Eye + Assassin's Mark on hit ring + elusive/tailwind boots + lvl 21 Arc + lvl 21 BL + critical chance corruption Shaper's Touch + lab helmet enchant (30% dmg while using RF or 40% BL dmg) + other usefull corruptions.

Perfect timing! I had to take a break shortly after your last Mjolner build due to RL stuff and just got back to playing again. Seeing a new Rico Mjolner build has made my day!
Hey man! i might say this build is wonderful!

A few customizations from my testing.

1. I like to max out the guard skills. So although The build is capable of left clicking Immortal Call on high levels, even with Increased Duration supp, it's too mana consuming with the frequent casting.

- I switched to Anomalous Steelskin. Working great surviving One-hit random explody so far in T11 - T14 (am just Level 73 as of writing)

2. Switching between Increased Duration Supp, and Summon Stone Golem.

- this is for the low levels like I am rn. if maintaining Righteous Fire is difficult, compensate more HP regen with Stone Golem.


I'm testing out a Hunter glove from my Div Ire-Ignite Elementalist which perfectly suits this build although the bonus Energy Shield from Shaper's Touch is too costly to lose (my ES from 4.7k goes down to 3.5k).


I believe this build will be one of the strongest I can't conclude it yet because I haven't reach max level. Gears are near min-max except for the level 80 rings.

@wie2323 about 4.5k ES at your lvl seems a bit lowish, you should have around 6k at this stage of the game. Prioritise ES nodes from now on, the goal is to reach at least 7k ES at lvl 90.

After grabbing Divine Judgement dmg can be upgraded mostly via gems and gear. Reaching 200% aura effect, Lvl 21 Arc, Lvl 21 BL, 20 quality on all supports, Bottled Faith and Assassins Mark ring are best upgrades in terms of DPS

I finally got around to going thru 50+ tabs in standard to find all the gear to try this out and I really like it. Only 87 on the character I decided to use though so I've got a few more levels to go. Switched things up a bit to match the items I have. Big change was only having one replenishing/equals cluster so I substituted some pure commander and aura reserve jewels. Switching up the tree just a little will allow me to still hit 200% for the aura's to get 86/86/87. Using the reserve jewels and getting the last aura cluster on the top half of the tree also frees up enough mana to add an aspect. I chose aspect of the spider since I already had that on an assassins mark ring.

One thing I can't decide on is if I like RF or if I prefer to leave it off for the extra regen. dps vs survivability. Since the extra dps isn't needed at all in normal mapping i've actually been using vaal rf and only popping it on the boss. Not as big of a dps boost as regular rf, but allows me to keep the insane regen. Best of both worlds I think.

Another item I played with is Shavronne's Revelation. As long as you're in standard with an Elreon ring for a 0 cost cyclone you can use that in the other slot for another 3% ES regen. Just wish I had unlimited funds so I didn't have to choose between -mana and assassins mark. Both on the same ring combined with Shav's ring would be awesome.

Thanks again for the guide! I still miss my juggernaut discharge Mjolner from your 3.7 guide, but this one is definitely a suitable replacement until discharge gets fixed.

@stoudtlr Im glad you like the build. You did nice job with switching the items, using what you have to a best effect. Still I would strongly recommend two additional changes:

1. Try to recolor your Shavs for 3 green and 3 blue (its hard I know). Using crafting bench might be helpful. This way you can take advantage of Slower Projectiles support which is a FAR better DPS boost to your Ball Lightning than Energy Leech support. To put it simply without a geeky math: each of your BL being triggered with Slower Proj will hit your target 3 times instead of 2. With 40% increased AoE and Slower Projectiles you can almost double your BL DPS in fact.

Assuming 80k DPU of each BL and 7 triggers per sec:

Without any Inc AoE and without Slower Proj BL DPS vs same target will be:
80 * 7 * 2.08 = 1.1mil

With total of 40% Inc AoE and with Slower Proj BL DPS vs same target will be:
80 * 7 * 3.85 = 2.1mil

Im assuming that BL is being fired directly on top of a boss. If it is fired in front of the boss and moves trough him than actual DPS will be higher.


2. The Torrent Reclamation is far superior to the base TFU "model". Its a 4.0 V8 upgrade to a standard 2.0 4 cylinder. First of all aura from Greater Harbinger of Time will affect only you and not you + anything around you which is the case with TFU. But more important: Sleepstream aura from Greater Harbinger of Time has WAY more uptime (about 80%) because it is casted more frequent by him and lasts longer.

Lets assume 2k ES regen and 2kes leech, 4k total ES recovery per sec. Adding 15% is another 600ES recovery per sec. How much ES on hit you can get with 7aps and 7 triggers per sec of both spells?
