Would you recommend Wolcen or Last Epoch?
So, now that GGG announced their will of trashing any crafting and PoE balance has gone poo anyways, which one of those was a better arpg to take a refuge?

" In that case try LE. It has an item editor and that semi uniqe skill tree system. Get a white base you like and craft all affixes to your heart's content (if enough mats) till it bricks/fractures (fracture similar effect like a Vaal Orb). Masterpiece of 3.16 lore "A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body." Only usable with Ethanol Flasks Last edited by gandhar0#5532 on Mar 11, 2021, 10:47:03 AM

Not played wolcen since launch and i have no idea if it has improved much since then despite the patches, but it was a major failure at the time.

LE is your best bet to satisfy a hunger for deep, meaty customisation and commensurate slaughter.
I cannot in good faith rec Wolcen to a seasoned, salted Exile. To casual arpg fans who dug TQ, TL, and maybe even D3? Absolutely. The first free expansion/content update Bloodtrail added quite a bit and the core gameplay remains as slick as ever. Great if that's enough for you. In my experience, Exiles struggle to enjoy ARPGs that aren't PoE, probably the same way a long term heroin addict isn't going to be satiated by any other drug. Like or not, PoE is an extremely high standard to beat, positively speaking or otherwise. Quitting it is a little harder than merely flirting with lesser vices. But I wish you all the luck in your attempt. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable. Huh. My mace dude is now an actual cultist of Chayula. That's kinda wild. Last edited by Foreverhappychan#4626 on Mar 11, 2021, 2:44:33 PM

I love these kinds of bitter threads lmao

I guess you should just test them out both perhaps. Last Epoch however is NOT a finished game unlike Wolcen though, so you are aware of that.

I wouldn't recommend Wolcen, and I wouldn't recommend Last Epoch until it releases. Diablo 3 or Grim Dawn is better than either of those games, IMO.
Even Warhammer Chaosbane is better than Wolcen. Wolcen is just garbo. I was able to play a mage in Chaosbane, and warp around and nuke stuff like I had enigma runeword in Diablo 2, it was fun, for awhile. Last edited by MrSmiley21#1051 on Mar 12, 2021, 11:54:51 AM

Or play a classic RPG. Plenty of them around, pretty good too!
As for the topic - Last Epoch is more competently made, everything else is subjective. |

Tnx, I guess LE seems to bear most potential. I dunno, maybe it needs some time to mature still, though. Like you said, it's hard to find a replacement for this game, sadly. I did try Grim Dawn earlier, maybe should try it again.
I've been also playing with an idea of returning to WoW after TBC goes live. I was playing an alliance priest but didn't really enjoy the class in the end, targetting people for heals feels clunky if you're not grouped (or maybe I'm just permanoob with WoW). I do have a warlock alt, though, which with little effort could be leveled. We'll see. PoE has nowadays very bad performance/stability issues. It's a toxic recipe to have one-try, super rare content with timers and unstable game. It's actually amazing GGG devs can get away with it. Last edited by vmt80#6169 on Mar 13, 2021, 1:37:40 PM
