Are guilds big on ps4?

I can't find much information online that's recent. I found a post from a few years ago that said someone was trying to get just a general ps4 guild going but that's about it. Are there any real benefits to a guild anyways?

I like to have the extra chat with people I know for years on PC but chatting by text isn't really practical on the consoles so I doubt many will use the feature. It's not free after all. Maybe some friends use it as a shared stash.
