dude poe.trade says the price for this item is 10c

So as usual on console, people will moan and whine about prices being too high on a lot of items, and i'll admit, for at least the first month of every league i moan about it too, a lot, but not in chat or in public since it gets me nowhere, instead i grind harder to make more currency, and watch the TB, looking for a price drop on the item i am looking for, and sometimes i do get what im looking for at a cheaper price, tho in many cases, the price is still 10 times more than what it costs on the PC market.

And on a daily basis there is several players complaining in chat, that prices are too high and so on, and some of the arguments for the prices being so high is that there is 10 times less players on console, than on PC, meaning there are a lot less items available on the market, which in turn drives the price up, in other words the market on console is deffinitly a sellers market, all of this doesnt bother me too much though, like i said already, i make do with what i can get my hands on, and i would say my character is about 90% SSF this league, have had a few high value drops this league which helped a lot.

So anyway, earlier today i got an offer on an item i have up for sale on TB, and by the looks of things i am the only one who has this item in Heist league on Xbox, at least has it up for sale on TB, i checked both online/offline to see what others had it priced at, and finding nothing i took a look on standard and well there the price varies from 30c to 15ex, if you check both online and offline, so i shrugged and set my price at 2ex.... so this offer i got on this item was 10c, i rejected that offer, and less than a minute later the guy made another 10c offer, and told me to check poe.trade where price is 10c, i laughed, read his msg again, laughed again then hit reject, i didnt bother commenting what he said, because im pretty sure he knows poe.trade does NOT reflect the market on console.

So what can be done about the prices being so high on console?, a huge wave of new players, or maybe even cross platform play between pc and console, but until either of those things happen i think we all have to live with how the current market works on console, but i bet in the next league im still gonna spend the first month ranting and moaning at my screen about prices being too high, but you will never see me do it in chat, ill be too busy grinding harder.

So stop whining and just accept that this is how the market is, and stop whining in chat about it, it only makes you look like an even bigger fool.

I quoted that bit simply because, he may not know that. However if you took the same amount of time to reply to him and explain the difference between console and pc league s you did to post this thread, he may not make the same mistake again. This is not meant to come across as having a go just explaining that sometimes people dont know as much as you do and sometimes they do, but helping people out is probably the best option in these situations.

Also the console trade is very annoying and inflated i have got to the point of just sticking stuff in my tabs for what i think things are worth and if people want to buy them they do if they dont, they dont. As you said nothing will change till the player base gets larger.

Yes, you are right, maybe i should have explained it to him, i just felt i no longer had the energy to explain it yet again, like i said, this thing happens all day long, every day, and at some point you just get tired of explaining it anymore.
And it seems pretty obvious to me he already knew enough, someone who doesnt know, very likely wouldnt know to look on poe.trade.
I dont mind helping anyone asking for help about the game, some questions in global has been about why prices dont match poe.trade, myself and others explained it and told them to not rely on poe.trade for checking what an item is worth, and i dont imagine that will change anytime soon, we'll continue explaining it in the next league, and the next and so on.

One thing that could maybe ease up on the explaining is if the guys making video build guides, added that prices listed on items in the videos are PC prices, not console...

Are the prices really high though? Just got 2 ilvl 86 Crusader Moonstone Ring's for 15c each. PoE Ninja says 23.1c (TY to whoever sold me them, super fast trade) If you wanna get one that's already crafted tho, you're looking at a few ex though. And those only took 10 x 1c fossils to hit, that's what's insane.

Cross play will never happen and that's a good thing IMO. Unfortunately, new players don't add much to the economy in terms of items being cheaper. More people, same number of well crafted items, causes prices to go up not down. You need more people capable of creating items that everyone would want. More quality to choose from, lower prices for those items. Uniques and other common items would be the only price drop you'll see from increase in player base.

It would be nice if PoE trade made it clear that it's for PC prices, but GGG has no control over what they do with their site. Like you said, chances are plenty of new players will be making that error for years to come. All we can do is educate them on their error if we're able to.
Problem with inflated prices is that many of these items will never sell and move to standard. So you have not only smaller player base, but even smaller available market. Instead of buying stuff for their builds and progress further and in turn generating more endgame stuff to sell, players stuck farming currency much earlier than on PC.

I’ve started out playing POE this league on Xbox, but moved to PC later as i just got tired from ssf type grind. So if you want to play pure trade league just play on PC, consoles have only SSF & half&half SSF/trade. With services like geforceNow you can play pretty much on any potato.
Prices are inflated to a ridiculous level having 10x less population doesn't mean the prices should be 10x more expensive. Firm believer That people don't understand supply on demand. If something sits in ur stash for 4 weeks at 15 ex chances are its not worth it
