Can Console not use trade on the site?
I thought if I were logged into the site with my PS4 account it would show ps4 available trades. Is this not true? DO I have use the trade within the game?
Its a cleanerish interface plus I can search for exact items I want. plus it would stop price gouging. Would it be so hard to filter by device and let the trade be open for all? Last bumped on Oct 27, 2020, 2:28:19 PM

" Yes, you have to trade within the game. You can use either the Market or the trade chat. Technically there's also the trade forum here, but it's pretty dead. " How exactly would it stop price gouging? PC players have tons of problems with market manipulation too. I've often heard people give the advice "ignore the first page of results" when looking for common items on PC. (Common but not super cheap) If, by price gouging, you mean that console prices are higher than PC prices in general, that has nothing to do with trade site versus marketplace. It has to do with the much smaller number of players on console. And a smaller fraction of those players reach high-level content. This leads a supply imbalance. The only way I can think of that the trade site would help against market manipulation is that we can see account names, so one person can't list 8 different Doctor cards at slightly different (super low) prices to make it appear as if that is the going rate. Because we would know they were all listed by the same person. But I don't think that's what you meant by "price gouging" (as it's actually the opposite -- "price fixing"). | |
I skimmed the prices for pc, and there are some standards when it comes to prices. I know there are always those who over price stuff, its the same thing with another game I play. Although its reversed as pc prices are a quarter higher due to more people playing on there. Which makes selling sucky. Plus pc gets discount codes on currency while console doesnt.
anyway yes price fixing sounds more like it I considered it price gouging on console because you can spend 500 chaos or 1.5 for the same basic item. Its not their fault due to not knowing the selling rate but could be resolved with filters in game or our own trade search filter so we have two options to buy stuff. But you are right price fixing. although... is there a difference between pc and console? I know my other game is, as one has stuff the other doesn't due to "balancing". But if this game doesnt why not just enable cross save? |

Pretty sure this is just supply and demand in a smaller user base. Prices on console, without real cross platform, will likely always be higher than PC. When there are fewer people selling the more rare things, they can demand a higher price. Simple econ.
I've come to terms with the fact that I'll never be able to put together a "cheap 5 ex build" from the forums and just act like I'm playing SSF. |
