No Sound Driver (Solved - Wanting to provide a possible fix that worked for me)

DISCLAIMER:

I am NOT saying this will 100% guaranteed fix this issue. However, this has worked for me in the past, and even now.

Problem:

In-Game shows "No Sound Drivers"

Solution:

Step 1 - Close the game
Step 2 - Locate your Path of Exile Folder (this folder should have a file named "production_Config" in it)
Step 3 - Open this production_Config file
Step 4 - Press Ctrl+F and Search "Sound"
Step 5 - Locate "audio_device_id="
Step 6 - After this you will type in the exact NAME of the Device you want giving you sound in-game. Example for what this would look like: audio_device_id=Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)
Step 7 - Save the file
Step 8 - Reopen the game, and you should have at minimum your Sound Device you just entered, or even all of the devices now.

I hope that this fixes sound issues that could arise for a player.

The fix worked and all my audio devices are showing up again.

Also fixed it for me after installing VoiceMeeter. Found the Config under "Documents/MyGames/Path of Exile".

You can leave the value empty after "audio_device_id=" and restart the game, no need to write something in there if you are unsure whats the correct wording!

Thank you! This seemed like the best solution I've come across. It didn't work for me, unfortunately. My sound driver is exactly as you stipulated in your example, but whenever it's enabled, I get the error. I can play without the sound just fine so maybe later if I buy some headphones I can try again. The quest continues....
