How does the Close Combat support work with the spikes?
Does the spike explosion measure the distance to the enemy from itself, or the distance from the player when it is detonated? If it is from the player, would that mean you can set up spikes, lure something into them, and then walk to up it as you detonate for maximum effect? With the introduction of Earthbreaker totems, you guys should enable leap slam totems to explode the players Earthshatter spikes.
This could be pretty fun, and I was disappointed to see that the interaction doesn't exist. |

Earthshatter of Prominence - spawns the spike like 1 screen away, which feels terrible to play. Can we have it changed so it feels more like EQ? The one spike spawns where the hammer/axe impacts the ground?

Specifically Earthshatter of Prominence:
Half of the time the spikes spawn too far away for autoexerted warcries to detonate the spikes. The character has level 20 fist of war, Ruthless support, 3% per endurance charge aoe and the brinkmanship cluster allocated. Example of three spikes spawned, one in range, two out of range. Spikes: imgur.com/a/LTT0ZFX Attempting to detonate: imgur.com/a/SlTq0QH Fair enough they do chain off of each other, but that's not how you want to play this skill. The transfigured version is meant as a one shot one kill implode the screen. If you can't do that half of your attacks then the version fails at it's core function. On this character specifically (2h axe bleed chieftain) I just swapped out Groundslam of Earthshaking for ES of Prominance, because in theory it does more damage, but in practice it's way too clunky of a clearing ability. You could also say "Okay Billy but why don't you just get more warcry area of effect?". Ignoring the part where paying passives for sheer functionality on an average skill feels bad, there just aren't that many sources of specifically warcry area of effect or they're gated behind traveling through weak passives. Even with Deep Breaths (40% inc warcry aoe) annointed the warcries don't reach the spike. Also putting Increased Area of Effect support on Autoexertion is madness after the latest reservation nerfs. Please consider adding some sort of less multiplier to the fissure travel distance on this skill as it gains more and more area of effect so you're not punished for investing into clear with clunkiness. |
