PS4 noob friendly build (no/low flask)
Hi Everyone, this is my first league playing poe on PS4. I've kept re rolling characters around level 30-40 because i keep getting stuck for different reasons. Is there any beginner friendly build that you would recommend that isn't dependent on flask? (hitting 3 d-pad buttons non stop is exhausting). I'm also looking for something that will easily get me through campaign and into mapping! I have ~30-40 chaos currently that I can put into the build Last bumped on May 9, 2020, 2:22:10 PM

" Hi Zodiac, I had this problem when I started as well. It's really a matter of muscle memory and you can overcome it. I suggest this. Look for a build that's dependent only on TWO damage flasks (or at most 3 if you're not dependent on a mana flask once you reach higher levels, but as you're a new player, it's hard to determine whether or not something fits that bill until you're a little more experienced.) Anyway, put your life flask in L1. Put your utility flask, whether mana or something like quicksiver in R1. Then put your two important damage flasks in left dpad and up dpad. Practice reaching up with your thumb to hit both those critical DPS flasks with one press. It'll become second nature to you. (For the fifth flask, in right dpad which is the most awkward to hit, do whatever you want. I usually put some dps flask "of warding" in that slot for when I get cursed.) For a beginner friendly build, I'd look at Enki's Arc Witch in the witch forums under elementalist. It's one of the most popular and well-explained beginner builds available. It uses flasks, but the flasks are not critical to the build. You should note that Enki's build is NOT going to be one of those builds that you stand there and press a button and the big bads die in 1.1 seconds like you see in streamer videos. You'll be a little fragile, so you'll have to learn how to avoid boss effects and stuff, but it will get you through the acts without any problem. It has the benefit of Arc, the main skill, being available from I think level 8 so you can familiarize yourself with what works and doesn't early on as you're leveling. He also has links to extensive leveling sections which tell you what to take when and from what quest to optimize your leveling experience. If you read Enki's build explanations, he goes into detail as to why each of the gearing decisions is made and how they interact with your other skills. As you're playing, you can branch out and try different stuff with it but remember, this is a beginner build. It is not meta and you will die as you learn, particularly once you get to maps. Just don't worry about it when you do. Playing PoE is a serious time investment, not just because the game is grindy, but also because if you really want to advance, you're going to have to do some research on your own. GGG doesn't handhold, but there are plenty of resources out there that will explain just about anything you want to learn. Good luck exile. Z. |

Thank you for taking the time to reply!
The only thing I am really confused about regarding this build is that the Path of Building linked in the post is very outdated, I looked on youtube and he has a much newer path of building so I am guessing i should follow that one instead? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSKc1Hr4Trs this one says its from 2018? should I also still stick with the leveling guide on his forum post? https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1147951 |

" Hi Zodiac, This is the current PoB that I've found. https://pastebin.com/r3EEZjCa I'd copy that into PoB and see if that helps. Z. |

" Yep, that post will explain everything you need to know about the build. It became quite a milestone in Poe history both the build and the guide. Gl. |

Hey there Zodiac,
Give this guys guides a go: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2784770 All his builds are designed around minimal button presses, high survivability and low stress play; also optimised so there are no specific gearing requirements, use whatever you like/have.Great introduction to mapping and the greater game itself without fear of bricking a character! Have fun mate |

I would suggest looking into making a totem build. They are generally noob friendly builds. The style of gameplay is much much slower paced and you can hide behind them for safety. Can also get away with neglecting using flasks too much. And for bosses just pop down your totems and run around far from the boss out of the line of fire while your totems do the dps. Unlike minion builds were they tend to follow you if you get too far from the boss.
If you critique this game and its problems your post will be removed. In a news thread about sound i asked "Why did it take multiple leagues to fix the sound on console?". Then got put on probation by Kane the sound guy! This is who GGG are! Last edited by Ac1D_FlA5H#9329 on May 9, 2020, 2:22:53 PM
