Self cast/Chains of command Animate weapon help.

So I am thinking of league starting this, part of my thoughts are self cast animate weapon and wondering how it will scale off "blades" left by blade skills.
I assume physical but there seems to be little info so far as to what the base type would be and if it's just item level with no mods.

I dont exactly know how AW works in what item base or mods factor in, I assume they do since its ID'ed items.

Anyone got some tips or info on this to share, I could see 20 AW impale weapons working like skeles did, might even be able to run Guardian again this league.

AWs will have the support skills you tied to it when self casted. But it dies easily.
