FF7 Remake Demo

Have you tried it what did you think? are you hyped?


Man!!!! I'm waiting for this game, I still got the player's Manual of the original game my Father bought me over 20 years ago.

man oh man time have passed, can't wait to try the full released game.

maybe this time, they won't butcher the translation. But don't be too hyped. The game itself is one of the more mediocre final fantasy titles. Only the tech made it popular in the west. After replaying it 2 years ago, the bland story and edgy main characters stuck out unfortunately.

i still love the original but i've always preferred the star ocean series.

anyway, its not a full remake. it'll probably take them like 10 different parts to complete the game. nobody has any idea how long it'll take for them to complete the entire game remake so im not going to get excited or hyped until its all completed.

even then i probably won't bother because each part is sold separately, so fuck that. not going to end up spending 800 dollars on a single title game broken up into 10 parts

i'll just boot up star ocean the second story on my PSP and get my kicks again

This title, is among the greatest rpg games EVER MADE. Easily one of the the favorite of middle age gamers that were around when this was released.

This game is one of, if not my most, favorite games of all-time.

It has everything. Im eagerly waiting to play as many damn parts as they want to put out to make this a big as it should be.

I also happy to share this experience with my niece & nephew as it will be their first experience. I'm actually jealous and cant wait to see their reactions.

ok, i want to preface this by saying i cannot stand VII. its overrated and its jank as fuck and there are so many many issue with it...

HOWEVER, the remake is NOTHING like the original game. so you cannot use your biased opinion going into a thread about the remake. thats beyond stupid. literally the only thing in common with the original game is parts of the story and character names. even the characters themselves are vastly different.

Na i'm just a lot more at home with FF9 and 10. They still hold up even years after their release. But taste is, and will always be, personal preference.

as far as i know their isn't much known at this point. The combat system will be a realtime one like the more modern FF titles and they leave the story mostly the same. The music will be recomposed but thats all. JRPGs live through their stories, and I think there will be much difference to the original. But we will see.

have you.... played the demo? have you watched anything about the game over the last couple years? have you watched any of the trailers? do you know anything at all about the rm?

you come in here and say the original was just a mediocre title (which i do agree with that) but you are clueless on the remake. you are taking what you know about the OG and just applying it to the RM like you know all about it.

Fun fact: change your PS language setting to Japanese, play with Japanese dialogue and English text. If you're weebically inclined. I hear the English dub is one of the best though, so that's a thing.

Just not even vaguely excited for this cash grab. Long ago, I said to a friend that the FF7 remake would be Squeenix's 'oh shit' button, their emergency option if things ever went south. Sure enough, with the decline of their mobile game scene and no real new IPs, here it is. Portioned out for several years' worth of sales.

I've heard One-Winged Angel live ten times now. I fan-subbed Advent Children (and then created a parody version). I played the original in Japanese bootleg, because that's just how I rolled. I was cleaning the other day and found a sealed 'Playstation greatest hits' copy of it in English, nfi where that came from. Suffice to say, well and truly over FF7.

Now if they announced an 8 remake, well, that's a whole other kettle of Raijin and Fujin fishing.

And yes, the combat system, even in classic mode, is still real-time. All you do is pick skills/spells/items when they're ready like it's some super advanced Idle RPG on mobile.

Also, the music arrangements, for what they're worth, are very good. But you gotta work pretty hard to fuck up FF7's OST. Uematsu and his usually awesome Mages of Blackness came pretty close with the AC techno version of Those Who Fight Further though...how the hell do you screw that masterpiece up so bad? Powerglove showed us all how WELL it meshes with metal...

edit: well it was alright. The dub is very good, to the point where I'd say English Barret is better than Japanese and English Cloud is on par. Uematsu is doing the music according to the wiki, which is a two-edged sword. He's OG but the O does stand for OLD. Not in love with the orchestral Those Who Fight Further. Not enough oomph. Difficulty on normal is borderline grindy. I won't be getting this on release though. Got a horrible feeling it'd be a double dip with some later 'comprehensive' PS5 release.

Same, but with the Mako reactor theme. Synthesizer > orchestra in this case.

No, i haven't played the demo, yes i've seen the trailers, yes i read the producers interviews etc. And still I don't see your point. You see, pumping up a mediocre story with more details will not make it better, only longer. I anticipate many collection quests, MMO style. Or worse, they take aspects of AC into the game. The episodic format is a cheap cash grap. I don't know all it, but I know enough.
